2 hours?
Hmmmmmmm 9hrs of cinematics, average playthrough is 18-20hrs, soooo over 9 hours of gameplay.
But what would I know, my name isn't kid.
I love MGS so much, if I had my way Kojima would make nothing but Metal Gear and be locked in a cubicle cage, and I would just throw bento boxes at him until MGS5 is done. It better be Big Boss in Africa, and a cameo of Solid Snake would just be perfect. NOT FOR HONOR, BUT FOR YOU, SNAKE EATER!
That said, I really hope it’s a prequel if it’s about Solid Snake, there’s literally nothing else they have to work with but retelling the original games, which I’m fine with. I mean, when you think about it he’s only really starred in two of the four Solid games, and in those four games he’s had literally one encounter with Big Boss, if there has to be another game, where all that comes together and they finally explore their relationship, and we have to kill Big Boss, I’m down.
i freaking knew he played the game, i mean i saw a pic of him with Jonathan Jacques, and Jean-François Dugas, David Anfossi at a booth last year.
oh my god Deus Ex HR was one of the very few games this gen that manage me to replay it more that once.
i hope they also bring the mechanics from portable ops
and peace walker where you could recruit soldiers. they should try like portable ops where if you non-lethal a boss you could recruit him, this is where the "social" aspect of Deus Ex HR comes into play.
can't fucking wait for this, though hopefully he'll oversee Anubis Zone of the Enders carefully in the meantime.
MGS5 is looking to be place after Peace Walker where the birth of Foxhound and Outer Heaven takes place. hope we get to see a Null(Gray Fox) and Sniper Wolf since they were both trained by Big Boss.
This is really interesting, DX:HR obviously took some influence from MGS, but did it's own thing, it's great to see what the MGS team can do now as they both make great games
I have a feeling it'll be set in the past this time around though, like MGS3/Peace Walker.
Not calling you out dude, I'm excited for another MGS too. But if anybody asks why they keep continuing the franchise when MGS4 concluded it, it's because of this mindset. We want it, Konami sees that, so they tell Kojima to make it. He might as well already be locked in a cubicle cage...
Having said that, I hope the next game is a good 'un!
The true Solid Snake was confident, teached their enemies a lesson when he defeated them (this in MGS 1, every time you defeated a boss) and had his morals in the right place. Naked Snake constantly questioned himself, while Old Snake (who is supposed to be Solid Snake) also constantly questioned himself. It just felt like Kojima sacrifysed the cool Solid Snake in order to write MGS 4 with Naked Snake, and then decided to do more games with Big Boss.
No more Big Boss games. Either make a Solid Snake game, or a The Joy game
Otherwise I'm totally open-minded about this, although I still say a spiritual successor would have been a much better idea; we would get to experience more tactical espionage action, without risk of screwing the canon set forth by the previous games.
So if I don't like it, I shouldn't buy it, OH MY FUCKING GOD WHAT A CONCEPT, YOU HAVE BLOWN MY MIND MISTER. Its just my opinion child, deal with it.
"you are one of the biggest tools I've seen on this site. Lol."
Hyuck, big tool, trolololol.
Sorry bug MGS just need to die, MGS1 was solid and almost felt like it wrapped itself up very nicely, then 2 rolls around and takes a giant steaming dump in everyone's faces, the writing is atrocious full of stupid twists at every turn, it attempts to be lighthearted with the whole infinite ammo thing and then it preaches about leaving a better world for our children, yea, no, either be serious or don't be, you can't do both.
3 rolls around and it ended up being solid to, if a big clunky, why was this? Because it didn't have the baggage of 2 to lug around, it was its own story.
4 was just a complete mess of a game, the prime example of what a shitty writer Kojima is, so badly written into a corner that everything is hand waved away with LOL NANOMACHINES, ALSO BIG BOSS IS ALIVE, WAIT NO, NOW HES DEAD.
Despite this, the entire game is wrapped, hell the entire universe is wrapped up, everyone is free, EVERYONE, all of humanity is free from the patriots control, Snake can find his own path, its done its over, no more story here.
But nope, DID YOU RIKE IT? WELL FUK YU MGS 5 NOW.
Kojima has shown bursts of talent with policenauts, quite frankly its hard to gauge his talent as a writer because all he's done past that is shitty MGS games, a shame really, I remember there being death threats when he said he was done after MGS2, death threats over a stupid game. But hey, Konami is a horrible, horrible company and at this point their last cash cow is MGS so might as well milk it for all its worth.
You can now go back to being angry over my opinion.
"But nope, DID YOU RIKE IT? WELL FUK YU MGS 5 NOW."
You're hired. You basically wrapped up 20% of everything I dislike about the series. That was gold wrapped in magic. Please don't ever change.
it's been 4 whole years since MGS4, by comparison it was only a 3 year wait between MGS 1-3, maybe Kojima just needed a long break to "recharge his batteries"
and it's not as if MGS4 was a BAD game by any means, in fact it was pretty darn good even if it's still my least favorite of the main 4 games in the series
so basically I'm game for this, Metal Gear has in no way close jumped the shark like Silent Hill has
No, it hasn't but the fact he mentioned Solid Snake to begin with is very troubling.
Heres hoping Kojima remembers he isn't actually a director, and is a game designer.
