Knights in the Knightmare demo available now photo

I've been busy working on a review of Knights in the Knightmare, so I can tell you that it's one of those games you have to actually play to understand. You see, the battle system is so different that simply explaining it in words doesn't work out.

Luckily, a tutorial demo from this beautiful DS RPG is available on the Nintendo Channel of your Wii, thanks to Atlus. Fire up your Wii and beam it to your DS and give it a spin. Only then will you appreciate the challenge I have of trying to explain how the battle system works. This is supposed to be a limited time offer, so if you're interested in the title, hop on and check it out.

Having played the game, I can say that this is also a good opportunity for those that look to purchase the game to be able to jump right in when they finally purchase it. There is simply no way that you can start playing this game without having learned how the battles work. Consider this a head start.

Reminder: the game comes out June 2nd, so get your pre-orders in to nab the sweet pack-ins pictured above.

If you check out the demo, let us know what you think in the comments below.

I have this preordered but I don't have a Wii. I wish I could check it out.

@Dale North

I'm geeting this game to experience a clusterfuck of gameplay but now I don't know. The emboldened text you present seem like a warning sign.

bulkmailer - it's less of a warning and more of a stressed point. The game is awesome, its just that if you're expecting to jump right in, you cant

If you say it's awesome then that'll do. Thanks.

No way to explain? Surely your joking. The game mechanics can't be so out of this world that you are at lost for words.

@Chronic - his joking? Oh, I'm sure you meant "YOU'RE" joking. Are contractions really that hard?

I tried the demo out, and it was interesting. It felt a little weird to keep the stylus on the screen for relatively long periods of time, but that is something that one's mind can conquer with time.

The easiest way to think of it is Final Fantasy Tactics meets a bit of Big Bang Mini.

That sounds pretty cool.

I tried the demo, and I am completely sold. Thanks, I would've had no idea this existed otherwise!

A tutorial for a demo. Really? It certainly whet my appetite, but I have no idea if I could actually play this game.

Take for instance Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The combat was manageable, up until I ran into a boss I simply couldn't beat. I regret the purchase now, because instead of simply wondering what the gameplay was like, I know it was broken, and a ill spent $30.

A proper demo, in my humble opinion, should offer multiple difficulty battles.

For instance, the demo for KitK (Knights in the Knightmare) should have a battle with the slimes seen in the tutorial, and then a medium difficulty battle against something you should expect leading up to a boss, and then a typical boss battle.

The progression firmly decides if a player can even handle the game.

As it stands, I know the game can play the game from the demonstrations, and this game is going to be insane in the more epic battles. But I really don't know if the controls could hold outside of the 5 seconds of game I actually played in the tutorial.

Regardless, probably going to buy it.

Gave the demo a run through. It's fairly innovative gaemplay actually. I really eanjoyed the demo and will definitely look for it when it comes.
