Klonoa remake comes to Wii in Japan photo

Please tell me you played the PlayStation 2.5D platformer Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. If you didn't, you missed a weird and fantastic 1997 classic, which featured a long eared flying cat-rabbit thing that wore a ballcap with Pac-Man on it. Uhh... it's better than I just made it sound.

If you missed it in the past, you'll get another chance when the title ships for the Wii. Namco Bandai just announced a full remake, with upgraded graphics promised. Japan will get the title on December 4th; 1UP says that no US release date has been announced.

The good news is that this platformer has not been wagglized. The title will be playable with a sideways Wii Remote and the two action buttons or with the Wii Classic controller.

Hope this game makes the jump across the pond. I want to play Door to Phantomile but the game is close to $100 for the PS1 and very few games are worth that.

This was actually the first PS1 game I ever played. Excellent game... now I feel like pulling it out when I get home.

As evidenced by my most recent C-Blog Post, I am looking forward to this game. :)

Klonoa and Tomba! series were some of the most under-rated Playstation series. Well... not "under-rated" but not as widely-recognized.

I just realized I have no earthy clue on how you pronounce Klonoa

I just bought the original PS1 version of this game yesterday for $15. Debating whether or not it's worth it to buy a wii remake..

Ugh, again with the Japanese-only releases. I just realized it's not Nintendo I'm pissed at, just Nintendo of America.

I feel kinda of bad for having to buy all of the Klonoa games used. Klonoa 2 is definitely one of my all-time favs. If they would make an official (console) sequel, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Finally, more Klonoa love!
I'm glad to see Namco hasn't abandoned this great series.

One of the best (and most overlooked) platformers of all time. I'm usually against remakes, but in the case of an underappreciated gem like this, I'll let it slide.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT YEAH!

I think this might be the first title I ever import. God damn, I am absolutely in love with Klonoa: Door to Phantomphile, and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil.

Awesome; I have and love the GBA games, even if the second one fucked up the boss fights royally. (Do not make me race a clock/enemy while puzzle platforming, fuckers.)

Wanted to play the Playstation ones, never owned any of their consoles, was hoping they'd revive the series somehow.
