This? I have nothing to hold against it. I'm always excited for a new RPG series. Especially something that isn't from Obsidian, Bethesda or Bioware.
Todd Macfarlane's company made some great figures back in the day. R. A. Salvatore's dark elf series has been a great rainy day read for me for the past, oh, 10 years or so. I definitely put this on my radar but I haven't heard anything about it for months until today. At the very least I'll give it a rental. Hope its good.
Give it time, I'm sure if it's as good as it looks, it won't have any problem.
Not exactly a major selling point there.
The only major unknown factor so far is the story, which will probably be pretty good. The gameplay wasn't very impressive, the graphics definitely weren't, and the Todd McFarlane art design is not standing out at all. It looks like they have the art director from Fable.
I'm liking it because it looks like Fable, but better paced. It was one of my top RPGs of E3.
Manasteel88: He's still at that show?
It looks pretty and it sounds good, but the only things I really know about it what the gaming press tells me over and over, which is who the people working on it are. I need more than that.
I watched some of the videos, and it really did give off a simplistic Fable feel. I'm truly hoping the combat mechanics are tighter than I was let on, and the game world is as grand as they say. If that's the case, then I'll absolutely knock this to the top of my want list!
Besides, there's plenty of games this year that will keep me busy, I don't need more. Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Arkham City, Skyward Sword, Kirby Wii, plus a ridiculous backlog of games I've yet to finish (including LA Noire, Castlevania, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Portal 2, among others.)
I've started not to give much of a shit if some famous writer is writing for a game, because they usually can't transfer that talent into a video game very well. There's a reason they write movies or novels.
Anyway, this did look pretty cool. I'm more pessimistic only because it's a new studio headed up by an old baseball player. Sounds like something that's doomed to fail from day 1 =P.
But hey, I'm open to it NOT doing that.
To me this is what Fable 2 should have been... I've been waiting 10 years for this shit.
Give the hype train time Jimmles, you'll hear the tooting soon enough.
