Kingdom Hearts 3 has been confirmed by series director Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura is interviewed in a guidebook packaged with Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Ultimania in Japan. Details from the guide have been spilled onto the Internet, with Kingdom Hearts 3 and two other unannounced KH games, being revealed.
"About the next title, Kingdom Hearts 3 depends on Final Fantasy XIII Versus, but development of the next title is already underway," acknowledges Nomura. "There are two titles other than Kingdom Hearts 3 in conception, and I think I’ll release one within this year.
"The series won’t end in Kingdom Hearts 3, more like the conclusion of the Xehanort saga. It’s not the case that when Sora’s story is over another hero’s story will begin; Sora will be the hero until the end."
Kingdom Hearts 3 is exciting, but I would advise against so much KH stuff. I already feel we have too many titles with all the portable spin-offs, especially as the series' big draw has always been how special and full of discovery the games are. When you put out too many games, they feel less special, and with the story getting more and more convoluted (seriously, we're calling it Xehanort Saga now?) I do think less is more.
Also, heart darkness heart darkness heart darkness heart darkness ...

Also, I hope for Wonderland to return in KH3, though Tim Burton style.
This is good news to the fans of this series, but I guess, but this spinoff lost my interest pretty early on, so even if the next game is actually something great, it'll be that much harder to reel me into it.
Also, I've generally had nothing but disdain for Nomura's work thus far.
Why all of the spin offs anyway? I tried playing Chain of Memories, which was a mistake since I hate card battle, and lost interest 2 days later. I haven't even wanted to play 358/2 or Birth By Sleep, or even the cell phone versions of the game.
Why is it so hard to make a direct sequel game? Why all the spin off games that add to the story but seem like padding that could have been used in a full game? Why ask why at this point I guess. But I am with you, Jim-less is more with this series. I am glad they finally confirmed KH 3. Now we just have to see which system it will come out for.
Shadowsinthenyte - The Spinoffs seem to be the developer's way of trying out new gameplay ideas (Most being annoying, though I do like the leveling system in the DS game) while also adding little details to each game's plot. CoM connects Sora's journeys in KH1 and KH2 and also hinted at Roxas' existance. 358/2 explains Roxas' existance in the Organization XIII and why he has two keyblades at one point. It also sets the stage for Birth By Sleep...ish. Birth By Sleep in turn is meant to solidify who Xehanort is and to set the stage for Kingdom Hearts III. Coded apparently does this as well, but I've never played that one (Gameplay looks odd to me, not to mention it's a phone game I can't get :D). What I wish they would do is instead of releasing so many sidegames, they should just internationally release the Final Mix games. After all, both Final Mix games (For KH1 and KH2) add tons of lovely things that pretty much make anything seen in the sidegames pretty much useless.
They also take focus off Sora and thank goodness because he's the worst main character ever.
What killed it for me was that every character was only able to talk about dark, light, keys, friends and love. I just could not fucking handle it. It destroyed the game for me and I havent been able to trust any KH game since.
If this one has less horseshit about being true to the heart of your friend ande use light to destroy the dark, then I will give it a try.
The best part about it is, it doesnt end with 3 :D
I'll never get that feeling back. Not to mention that they just rehash the same Disney movies over and over. The more Organization XIII I here about, the less I care.
And i cant wait for the series defining kh7.
If Nintendo, M$ or Sony announces this bomb... Wow, its a freaking console seller...
No offense PS3. I just don't own you.
