King's Bounty demo is out right now photo

Today, the developer of King’s Bounty: The Legend, 1C Company, was nice enough to drop a demo on all of us. According to IGN, the demo includes the first city in the game, all the character types, some spells and even a few quests. The demo can be grabbed here.

I was able to observe the game being played a few months ago at Gen Con, and I have to say, I was impressed. King’s Bounty is a strategy RPG with a focus on what goes on outside of battle. The strategy elements are solid, but it’s the excellent touches on the cities, landscapes, and quests that really make this title pop. One of the coolest aspects of the game is that weapons are sentient. If you tick off your sword by picking up characters that it doesn’t like, you’ll be forced to calm it through battle. It was also conveyed to me that the weapons statistics would also differ depending on your actions.

The game is due to ship on September 23, so you should have plenty of time with the demo before making a mad rush to preorder. If you download the demo, make sure to tell me what you think of it.

I saw an article about the demo of this and considered downloading the demo (usually followed by promptly forgetting about it). Following your revelation of sentient weapons that complain about the company you keep I'm going to grab it right now!

Oh man! I love the old King's bounty on PC and Genesis!

I don't know if it will feel the same all updated and such but this is a great revival for me.

Is the same as the old King's Bounty on the Genesis, AKA Heroes of Might and Magic?

I spent SO many hours on that crappy game, getting my throng of peasants wiped out and such.

Sweet! I played the old King's Bounty to death as it was one of the few Genesis games I actually owned. I heard about this remake a few months ago and I'm eager to try it out!
