Kinect playable at Microsoft stores photo

Many of you may be vocal in your dissatisfaction with Kinect, but I'm willing to bet you wouldn't turn down the chance to at least try it out, even if it's just once.

For those living near a Microsoft store, you'll have that chance. The motion-control device is playable at all four locations. Yeah, there are only four Microsoft stores in existence, and they can be found in these cities: Scottsdale, AZ; Mission Viejo and San Diego, CA; and Lone Tree, CO.

Call me when Best Buy gets some demo units in. I have to wonder -- will most GameStops even have adequate space for the device? The ones near my house sure won't.

Kinect now playable at Microsoft Stores nationwide -- all four of them [Engadget]

Why the hell isn't there a Microsoft store in WA? I mean, I can literally drive to Microsoft HQ in a couple hours if I wanted, but I can't play in their store unless I wanna go to CA?

Lame.

You lose, Devore. I wouldn't walk into a Microsoft store to try out their retarded product any more than I'd wade through the douche at an Apple store to try out their retarded products. Now since the wager was $15,000 I hope you're good for it because I'm coming to collect.

I'd give it a shot if I saw one set up but I would not go out of my way to go so.

I'll report back later. Headed to the San Diego store on the way home to pick up the new 360.

I'm sure plenty of people live near those stores, but those locations seem so random to me. You'd think LA or NY would be represented.

Aren't they the places that solely exist to swap failed xboxes?

That were going to do some kind of game burning service or something?

At least they found another use for them.

Scottsdale. 20 minutes away. Not really breaking my neck to see Kinect. More interested in seeing a 3DS in person rather than flail like an idiot in Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Maybe I'll go early in the morning when none of the hot chicks are there.

"Hey guys we only can make one more store. Where should we put it?"

(and some responses include)

"New York City"
"Chicago"
"Houston"
"Lone Tree, CO"

"Oh I like that last one. Lets put it there"

@yankee04 - You've obviously never seen Park Meadows mall. It's a freaking MASSIVE mall full of high-end, ritzy stores.

Lone Tree does sound like a tiny redneck town to those that don't live here.

I went to the Lone Tree store the other day to try it. Meh. Show me a real game and I might be excited. The demo they are running is Kinect Adventures. I got to try out the rafting game. It definitely worked, but it was really obvious that people will have a hard time staying in frame. I watched the people before and after me play and both couples had one person that kept stepping out of frame and wondering why it didn't work right.

I was impressed that it was able to track my 2 year old pretty well. It occasionally thought he was kneeling when he wasn't, but otherwise did great.
