Re-release remake, as in not just a port? That's a shame! I wish more developers would put forth the effort when re-releasing older games. Resident Evil remake turned into one of the greatest survival horror experiences ever , improving on the original in every manner (though some miss the campy voice acting).
Also, Event Horizon was a good PWS Anderson film. Moral Kombat is cheesy in all the right ways. The first Resident Evil was fine as a self sufficient story, and an okay film adaptation. Everything else that man has done is garbage.

It's only VG247 who don't know the difference, it's a port.
And the first Resident Evil is not fine on its own, you don't take 40 minutes for the main characters to meet the first zombie in your zombie movie. That's not building tension, that's channelling Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

You know what? I'm okay with them not doing it. They game was merely interesting for its aesthetics, technical, and artistic achievements... not so much the game play. If you were interested in what could be done on PS2 hardware or wanted to see sci-fi guns that seemed like real working guns w/ cool reload animations - than Killzone is top notch. What Guerrilla was able to do on the PS2 hardware WAS amazing, but few people would have noticed or cared on a re-release.
All the killzone games have been over rated turd sandwiches. I always get my hopes up and they always suck. They should let this series die.
They should've just remastered it in HD and released it for the PS3/PSVita. I still remember hearing this game would be a straight port to PS2 Classics. Guess they didn't want to lump Killzone in with the rest of those games.
Oh well. I heard Primal is supposed to be released on the Playstation Network as well. Wouldn't be surprised if that's "delayed indefinitely" too.

Man, I remember being so hyped for the original Killzone. Bought it on release, finished it in the same evening, then I took it back the next day. It was like the world's most expensive rental.
Well I would have cared. Me and my buds loved the first way back when. Didn't care for the others. 3 was cool and all, but just didn't click. Flat out didn't like 2.
Bummer man. Always been a Killzone fan.

If it's just a port, I don't really care anyway. Not gonna waste money on last gen ports when the rest of Sony's franchises are getting proper updates.
Seems to be Sony's fashion lately to completely forgo saying this crap BEFORE it's supposed to happen, and hoping people had just forgotten.. Like all the issues with the extra packed in games they had promised last year at E3.

Maybe they realized and smartened up to the fact that Killzone 1 is terrible and would only satisfy the most desperate and delusional of fanboys.
@B Echos - Oh, bummer. I really an tired of HD ports become so popular. Unless I didn't/don't own the game being ported (or if it's one of my favorite games of all time: DMC3, MGS3), I won't bother.
You're absolutely right, though. I wish HD slap jobs weren't referred to by anything more than a port, since they're not making, let alone remaking anything; it's just a copy-paste job with new texture files and some tweaks.

I actually was looking forward to this, as I'm a pretty big fan of the two PS3 titles (both single and multiplayer). Oh well, I'm probably not missing out too much.
Probably realized it wasn't worth the effort and decided to just shit it out on the PS2 Classics line.
@TechnicolorDewDrop: I agree. The controls felt off, the graphics were dull (and anyone who claims that Killzone 2 also had dull graphics hasn't played the first Killzone),the sound was of a very bad quality and the health system was poorly explained.
