Sorry Jim, I know you love to felate that game nightly.
When you have a very capable PC, I don't know why you'd subject yourself to playing a sub par FPS like Killzone 2. But I guess there's no accounting for taste. Everyone has different tastes, and I can't criticize you for liking what you like. I just hope they improve the gameplay of Killzone 3 so it doesn't feel like Im' trying to walk through quicksand.
I also have a high end PC and an XBox ontop of my PS3, and honestly, I would rather play an FPS on my XBox than either the PS3 or the PC. I'm not a huge fan of the Mouse and Keyboard either. However I do love L4D and TF2 for the PC over the console.
@DtoidBadMrK
you're too accustomed to the fact that most FPS games have characters that move like they're wearing pillows filled cotton instead of armor.
He left towards the end of June. It was very low-key unlike Anthony Berch's departure. Rey didn't even make it public till almost mid July, and that was on his Twitter account.
But yeah, I follow him, he has lunches with Kevin Butler n shit.
If you've ever seen any sort of footage from a battlefield, no soldiers wear "armor" that inhibits their movement, and makes it impossible for them to move. All armor is relatively lightweight and mobile. So in reality, it's not about "wearing pillows filled with cotton." It's about being realistic. Who would send soldiers onto the battlefield wearing armor that makes them walk like sloths?
Fair fucks!
Obviously I'm exaggerating a bit. But generally movement was much slower than most games, as you clearly recognized in your previous post. They moved like they were weighed down, and this is not ideal for a combat situation. So maybe you like playing as a weighed down soldier, but to me it seemed a bit off.
Sloths was a bit overboard. But you get the idea.
In short, I would like to retain the feel of KZ2, but with the button layout of COD. :)
As I recall they had a control scheme similar to COD, but there was something about it that failed me... I can't quite recall... think it had to do with the way the aim/crouch worked together. Like maybe aiming was set to a 'toggle mode' where you had to press the button to enter aim mode and press it again to leave aim mode, but meanwhile you had to hold the crouch button or something...? I'll have to go back and play it now. haha
