During Nintendo's Direct 2011 showcase, they showed off some more of Kid Icarus Uprising, a game that I had managed to forget about completely. During the game's quick spotlight, we were given some new info regarding its multiplayer components: 3-on-3 competitive, and battle royal. Both will be playable over local and internet connects and look really fun.
They've also cemented the game's Spring Japanese release date of March 22. I'd like to think we'll be seeing it here in the West shortly after, but there's no word on that. In the meantime, enjoy a few shots of the trailer while we wait for the video to crop up.

Why yes, I have four already.
Anyway Liam, the bit regarding multiplayer ain't really new to me. I remember reading the 3 on 3 multiplayer would be local and internet based a long while back.
Maybe it just took more time to get into it, but it wasn't that fun. Just walking, rolling, and shooting, no flying, jumping, or otherwise strategically traversing the arena.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by Metroid Prime 2's underrated multi-player mode.

I LOVED MP2'S multiplayer! Cool to see it actually getting recognized.
As for this game, I can't help but wonder what kind of Kid Icarus game Yokoi would have made instead. I have a feelin it wsould've been a lot more exploration based and less actiony. This game stull looks promising, though!

Yeah I mean how dare they try to add a multilayer to a game who's only appearance before this was in 1987. What the fuck Nintendo?
No offense, and this is more a commentary on the industry itself, but the industry seems to forget anything that isn't talked about daily, or at least twice a week, till its release. Whole thing is so very short term all the time, and that kind of makes me sick -specially when a game like this was oogled over just 6 months ago.
