Kid breaks vacuum, mom sells Xbox 360, Internet points and laughs photo

I love it when some snotty punk kid gets taken down a peg or two, and the mother of one particular teenager has truly delivered. The boy was expected to perform chores, but he had other ideas. Rather than do something to earn his sordid keep, he decided instead to break the vacuum cleaner so he didn't have to do any work. Well, his mother decided that an eye was worth an eye, and is now selling his Xbox 360 to pay for it:

My son seems to think everything should be handed to him on a silver platter, so the XBOX is going bye bye. I do have an assortment of games as well, that I will sell for $15 each.

Price is firm, must replace vaccum that he broke thinking that would get him out of having to do chores.

As if that wasn't bad enough for the hapless spawn, his mother has also informed the world that she's busted him for looking at porn sites. His Internet access is now safely locked behind a password and his mother also apparently put a picture of Snoopy on his MySpace. Is it just me, or does this woman sound like the most kick-ass mother in the world?

In all seriousness, this mother is taking no crap from her son and is showing him that if he wants to act like a jackass, there will be consequences. If more parents did this rather than blame outside sources for their brats' bad behavior, we'd be living in a much, much better world.  Kudos to that woman.

[Thanks, Electro Lemon]

Now that's parenting.
I hate seeing snotty kids treat their parents like ass because they know mom and dad have no backbone.
Growing up, if I ever pulled crap like that, oh boy.

and his mother also apparently put a picture of Snoopy on his MySpace.

Hellz yeah. A nice touch.

Then that kid will murder his mother.

Then everybody will blame video games.

Then Jim Sterling will rant about it.

Then irony will come full circle.

<Your mom enters your room, looking furious. She babbles something about knowing that you broke the vacuum on purpose.>

Mom uses "Sell Xbox Because You're a Tard".
Mom rolls a natural 20.

<You pass out from embarassment.>

Also, cocks.

Stupid kid should just do his damn chores...

I certainly did it for FREE back when I lived with my parents.

Laundry and a fair amount of Vacuuming. It doesn't eat that much time. Just do it already!

And by free... No allowance boosts or incentives...

I owe my parents more than I did for them for sure.

I unno what it is (and maybe it's me.) but doing chores anywhere but my house is always the big thing for me.

still. It's nice to see a parent actually knowing how to be a parent instead of acting like their 10 year olds and blame the media.

HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!! Serves that punk right. Do what needs to be done first, then game. Parenting done (semi)right. Now we just need to see what games she's selling, see if any "objectionable" content is found.

If nothing, then she's my parent of the month, hell, of the year for gamers.

That's a good one with the 360.

But I think punishing your kid's online accounts because he was looking at porn isn't right. It's just porn. And that's just patronizing.

How is this news? Decades back, children were given harder punishment. Compared to those days, this is nothing.

Oh, and to those who didn't check the other articles, the kid's 13.

Caught with porn at 13?
Hell, my mom didn't even mind. She actually said:
"Ah, so you've discovered the world of sexuality. I'm proud of you, son!"
Because at some point, one has to learn about sexnot just via books, but in close-up.

But still, that kid got what he deserved.

I bet my ass his mom's gonna buy a Dyson with the money,

Hell. If I acted like that, my parents would do worse than this. Good job for sticking up as a parent.

On another note, he got all pissy for vacuuming? That's one of literally dozens of chores I do, most daily and voluntarily, to help out my parents around the house. Kids need some respect.

Finally a parent that takes responsibility and shows that kids can be dealt with when they get out of hand. I doubt that FOX News is going to report on this in the light that it properly should be. Video games are not the problem, it's the parents that don't take it upon themselves to do what is right. And to teach their kids what right and wrong is. Bravo lady.

Too funny

@enfaw The average 13 year old has all the cunning and guile of President Bush. I don't think he would have broken it in such a way that it was difficult to tell he meant business.

Forget selling the XBOX, what she should have done is wait for him to be in the middle of a game, run in with a baseball bat, smash the XBOX, and make the sucker get a job to pay for the vacuum.

To be honest, it really sounds like shes not been a great mother, up to this point. I dont know anyone whod break something to get out of chores, and i hate to think what else hes been able to get away with before this.

But what a way to turn it around! Good on her.

What if it was revealed that the kid has lymphoma and only broke the vacuum because he was too weak to lift it due to his intensive bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments... That would change things..

Where are the lawyers this is clearly GTA's fault. They practically created a vacuum breaking simulator and expect this not to happen? I expect this child to sue for pain and suffering from Rockstar and his mother.

I'm going out on a limb here and am going to guess that this Mother doesn't know what her son is probably saying over Xbox live.

The kid should consider himself lucky that that's the case... that is of course unless he reeeeallly like the taste of soap.
