Sorta interested, $15 isn't bad, really don't think I'd be in for $30 (see: $29.99 assumed since they said $15 was going to be roughly half the launch price).
Just not sure if I'm quite sold.
I'll be keeping my eye on this though, I'm always up for a new rpg!
It's being written by the same guy as VtM:B. That alone sounds worth the price of admission.
Go Dead State! Pledged 75 $!
This game would cost $150,000 to finish, and when all's said and done, if they sold 10,000 copies on Steam/other service for $15 each, the publisher broke even.
Compared to Modern Warfare 2 which costed close to $200Million by the time marketing was done, up to $250,000 for a decent game is nothing.
Instead of only investing in the high-risk, high reward titles (your standard $60, "AAA" game) which ruins your profits for the year if it flops, publishers should throw some money into low-risk, medium-reward assets. (just like how they teach you to invest in stocks)
That and at $60 a pop, it's really hard for a game to compare to Call of Duty. I'm not so rich I can buy whatever game I want, so when I buy a shooter this fall, and the choice comes down to the next Call of Duty, or the next battlefield/clone we all know what the choice will be.
Can there not be a zombie game without the word Dead in the title? Left 4 Dead, Dead Island, Dead Nation, Dead Rising, Dead Etc.
Those guys made three of my all time fave RPG's, Arcanum, Temple of Elemental Evil and Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines. All three are still installed on my PC now.
Dead State should be oldschool awesome.
(Feels like starting up a TimeSplitters runoff...)
