Kenka Bancho's back with some more punk ass whoopin'
The wonderful guys at Spike Chunsoft who gave us gamers an excuse to beat up tons of cocky, chauvinistic, angst-ridden Japanese delinquents time and time again are about to give us yet another offering. It's time for Kenka Bancho Bros. - Tokyo Battle Royale! As the title suggests, it's all going down within the walls of the biggest Japanese city of them all. The aim: to get to the top of Tokyo. The obstacle: the 47 toughest guys 'n' gals from every single prefecture in the country, who have assembled in all the famous landmarks the city has to offer to stop you from getting there. These places include Akihabara, Sensouji Temple and its outer gate, the Kaminamimon, Tokyo University, Tokyo City Hall, Haneda Airport, Tokyo Tower, and Shibuya. Usually, you would go it alone. However, for this game Spike Chunsoft decided that you could do with a little help. Enter your partner, your buddy, your comrade, your bro. That's right, folks: a Kenka Bancho first is two heroes for the price of one. This brings in new moves such as the "Close friend special" and "close friend combos" as shown in the video. If you're wondering where those girls are at, don't worry -- Spike assures there's still time for dates with heroines. Furthermore, for all the customization and cosplay lovers out there, there are up to a 1000 items you can customize your punk hero with. Finally, you can now fight seamlessly together across two PSPs, another first for the series. The game itself is due out on June 21 in Japan for the PSP, both in UMD and PSN digital formats. Whether or not it'll come here remains to be seen, though I don't think anyone saw the last Kenka Bancho game being released here coming, so fingers crossed. In the meantime, enjoy the prospect of the "no-hope invincible duo vs. the toughest 47 punks from all 47 prefectures of Japan" with this little vid. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
