Codemasters always likes to tout how it goes to the experts to bring that extra level of realism to racing games. Come to think of it, that essentially describes what all of the studios do. At any rate, this new video for DiRT 3 has rally racer Ken Block.
In it, he talks about all things Gymkhana. I'm glad they're expanding the types of events in DiRT 3, but at the same time, I can see myself failing miserably at the Gymkhana segments, because they tend to require a level of memorization I can't handle.
On a related note, did anyone else not know Ken Block was in his forties? Damn, dude!
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

if he would actually focus on winning and maybe practicing he wouldn't have gotten his ass spanked during the wrc. i hate the fact that the xgames are bastardizing rally. the snowboarding and whatever i can understand because it brought it into the international spotlight. rally on the other hand is respected everywhere but here, and because of that they tried to make it "extreme". the shit they pulled on the xgames with dave mirra driving was fucking retarded.
i hate how this gym bs is gaining steam. the only good i can see coming from this is that the wrc gains more of a foot hold in america and actually gets more of a presence on television. it will eventually turn into a mt dew extreme thing and i'll be forced to watch it and scream and throw things.
i have plenty more to rant about, but i'd rather not.
I don't like all the extreme bullshit that Dirt 2 had, stadiumtrucking is pretty boring, and the menus and driver banter were extremely fucking tedious. That said, if this mode is anything like the style events in Project Gotham Racing, I'll be all over it.
Ken Block is a terrible rally driver and having him provide "guidance" is an insult to Colin. Can we get some proper rallying please? None of this hick as fuck turbotruck bullshit.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Why did Colin Mcrae have to go an die in a helicopter accident? I'm not a huge fan of the direction the Colin Mcrae/Dirt series is going now.
As long as they keep in a good chunk of rally racing against the time, I'll still buy the next iteration. Otherwise, ...meh.
It may just be my country ways however.
