Keith Vaz whines about suicide bomber game, tries to ban the unbannable photo

Keith Vaz, the UK's premier game hating MP, has been kicking up a stink once more about interactive entertainment. Amusingly, I had never heard about Kaboom: The Suicide Bombing Game before Vaz decided to make a public spectacle of it, but thanks to him, yet another game is getting free promotion that it doesn't deserve.

Just in case you were wondering, Kaboom is a very rubbish game in which you make a terrorist detonate himself to try and kill as many as possible. It's pretty stupid, and very boring. Rather than ignore such sub-par garbage, however, Vaz thought it was important to share with the public, claiming to be "deeply concerned" that children could play it. The game is six years old.

Vaz wants the game banned, which is an impossible task as it is distributed for free online and is hosted in the US. Just in case you haven't worked it out yet, Keith Vaz is a moron. Tory MP John Whittingdale is more sensible, suggesting that -- shock -- the game won't turn people into suicide bombers, but obviously those who have been affected by suicide bombing could find it upsetting. Who would have thought a politician could be reasonable?

So, this is just another case of Keith Vadge making mountains out of molehills and making sure that any kids who hadn't heard about an evil game will certainly hear of it now. I will help Vaz spread the word of this game by posting the article you've just read, since that is obviously what Keithy-Boy wants.

I remember playing this back in college. It was terrible. Not because of the shock factor, it was just a rubbish game.

For some reason, the gameplay mechanic sounds like it's been done in a more fun game. It wasn't that Bomberman B-Daman game for Super Famicom, was it?... Damn! Now I'm gonna be wondering about it all day.

Glad you take the high road Jom Storlong. This game isn't bad. It gets old quick, but its much on the same lines as the bloody snowman penguin launch game.

But, glad you have an opinion Jim.

A game submitted on a free online flash portal hosted in the USA in 2002??? And he wants it banned now in the UK???

Sure the suicide bombing theme can cause a bit of distress but asking for a 6 year old game hosted on a free flash portal in the US to be banned is just stupid.
