Katamari shows off its Easter Sunday best photo

I'm on the bad side of town now and it looks like its been rolled over with a giant Katamari ball. There is rubble everywhere. It's the perfect hiding place for that nefarious Easter Bunny. Speaking of Katamari Damacy, have you seen the new filters that the next iteration of the game, Katamari Damacy Tribute, will have? They make the HD game look even better in so many wonderful ways.

Above you see the Colored Stencil filter which gives off a hand drawn feeling. Below you'll find the classic look, which still looks better in HD; the Wood Grain filter, which is woody and grainy and the cel-shaded look, which is pretty nice in and of itself. If you'd like to see a few of them in action you can check out the trailer for the game here. Think this will make the game feel fresh and new or is it just a little bit of extra fluff?

And speaking of fluff, I've found some outside of this rabbit hole. I think the Easter Bunny is down there and I'm going in. Wish me luck.

That's woodgrain look is in itself worth the price of admission.

Th more PS3 games like LBP and Valkyria Chronicles which use the PS3's power for non-realism purposes, the more PS3 games I plan to buy.

Wow, choosing one is going to be the hardest part. I think I like the stencil the best, but I can't wait to see them all in action.

I don't like the woodgrain filter at all, nor the Okami filter, but the hand-drawn one is lookin' nice. Whatever the case, WANT NAOW.

These filters look nice, will the King of Cosmos look more or less camp in a woodgrain??

If Namco Bandai announces US release dates for this and Tales of Vesperia PS3, I'll be very happy with them.
If not, I won't.

I like. Does that purple Cosmos royalty have a black dildo on his/her head?

Yay filters? I know most gamers like options, but I wish the developers would have enough "vision" to present a "definitive" view of the game. I think that while many of my friends turn off the film grain in games like Silent Hill on subsequent playthroughs, the fact that you have to unlock that option indicates that the developers at least know how they want the game to look, instead of leaving it up to the player and splintering experiences.

Did that new style appear in the trailer with all the animals talking? I noticed a difference just in that trailer that I thought looked amazing....could be wrong though.
