Feeling the need to get the ball rolling? Well Namco Bandai foresaw this and decided to whip up a portable Katamari for your iPhone. Katamari Amore will be hitting the App Store today and it's more of exactly what you'd expect from a Katamari, which, to be fair, is not a bad thing whatsoever.
If you've never played a Katamari game, this is a perfect opportunity to jump in and finally see why the series is in its seventh entry. If you're still not entirely sure about whether or not you'd be interested, Namco Bandai still has you covered as they also put together a nice little trailer for you to get excited over. But really, after you've seen the Pac-Man level and that doesn't mean an automatic purchase from you, you just don't like fun.
Naaa na-na na na na na-na na na na na-na naaaaa. Naaa na-na na na na na-na na na na na-na naaaaa. NAAAA na-na na na na na-na na na na na-na naaaaa. Naaa na-na na na na na-na na na na na-na na-na na-na naaaaaaa.
Wow can we pleeeease get this on Android? Actually, no, don't, I can't risk shitting my pants in between my classes when I pull out fucking KATAMARI on a phone...ah but I can dream.
Touch controls for games like this usually make me cry so we'll see how this goes.
Also worth noting is that the base game is "free" You download one level which you can only play in Time Trial mode. You then buy levels as in-game purchases. The current pack available is 3.99 and includes 6 stages and 4 modes for each(Story, Time Attack, Exact Size Challenge, and Eternal!)
I still want a good new Katamari game for consoles. I don't want awkward iphone controls. (I'm not counting the 360 katamari because half of that game was locked away as "DLC" and I'm not counting the PS3 Katamari because apparently it's partly recycled levels.)
@ llort het - Yeah, Katamari Forever on the PS3 is about 90% stages from other Katamari games, and Beautiful Katamari on the 360 is nice and cheap, but most of the game is DLC. Beyond that though, the game just doesn't feel new. Neither did Me and My Katamari on the PSP.
I bought and enjoyed them all, but none of them were even close to as good as the first two games.
Katamari Forever is about as close to perfect as you can get on the current generation. It's NOT We Heat Katamari, no, but it's really damn good, even if the stages are from previous gen games, it's still a really super solid collection with a TON of replay value.
Confession time: I'm super giddy for Disney Infinity. I love the concept, and I actually want to waste money on a bunch of dumb toys.
That's of course if they bring in classic Disney stuff. I'm talking about things like Duck...
