Karma's a bitch: Jack Thompson has heart trouble photo

You know what karma is; it's that concept by which if you live a good life, you're reborn as a golden cow, and if you're bad, you're liable to spend your next incarnation trapped in the body of a hideous predatory mantis who gets his head eaten by lady mantises with frightening breasts. In other words, you reap what you sow, and now the elevated blood pressure that Jack Thompson causes all of us gamers with his ignorant mouth-frothings is giving him a big bushel of reciprocal come-uppance.

GamePolitics.com is reporting this morning that dear Mr. Thompson is suffering from a stress-induced heart ailment, or so he wrote in a Federal District Court motion involved in his legal battle with the Florida Bar. From the filing:

Plaintiff, at 3 am this day, is suffering what he believes is arrhythmia, from which he has suffered previously, as well as chest pain. This may be a benign condition, or it may be serious. He has had other previous episodes like this induced by stress.

Plaintiff must try to see his cardiologist… to try to assess the problem. It is most likely stress-related by virtue of The Florida Bar’s demand that Thompson be psychiatrically/psychologically evaluated in violation of its own Rules.

... Aww. Let's all send him some flowers, kind wishes and candy -- POISON CANDY, that is.

I fully agree with Sharpless. Jack may be an asshole, but he's still a human being. Let's not prove what he claims about gamers is true.

while i do have a strong wish for jack to die, we need him so we can project our anger and need for violence that stems from video games

If he's really suffering from something, that sucks for him and all, but I can't deny a feeling of schadenfreude here. Especially if it's "stress-related", since he brings it on his damn self, and I have little sympathy for him.

@Ron Workman

Well, Jack is a "video game expert" and a "school violence expert", after all, so who's to say that he's not also a "medical expert" in the same manner?

@Everyone saying they hope he dies or that he should be "finished off" or whatever

Don't. Just don't. As horrid as the man is, you make yourselves look as bad, even if it's just in jest. Besides, as I know I've said before, if an angry video gamer kills Jack Thompson, Jack Thompson will win. We don't want that, do we? On the other hand, if he dies of a "stress-related" heart attack or something, well... that would only be fitting, since he all but has a coronary every time a Rockstar game comes out anyway. I don't wish death upon the man, but yeah... karma can indeed be a bitch, and if it's his time to go, it's his time to go.

Also,

@Those saying we should send flowers...

It's one thing to send flowers or whatever because you're honestly concerned and hope he gets better. It's another thing entirely if you're sending him flowers out of some cruel sense of irony because you know it'll just piss him off even more. It's like Penny Arcade donating money to charity in his name. Yeah, they donated a bunch of money to charity and all, but the motives weren't entirely altruistic. A big part, probably the biggest part, of their motivation was simply to make Jack Thompson look like an utter asshole in a public forum, which was kind of a dick move to do (even if I did get many lulz from that dick move).

I'm honestly not concerned with his wellbeing, so I'll not be sending him flowers.

Best news I've heard all day.

Even though we all know he's lying his right wing off.

I agree that this is probably his own damn fault. He blows things up to enormous proportions, seems to think that half the world is out to destroy him... Of course he's going to be under a lot of stress, raging against a machine of his own making. He's carrying a lot of weight, even if he put it all there himself. Homie needs to chill.

And I also agree that he may not even be telling the truth. It angers me to no end, seeing this shmuck claim to be so noble and heroic, the savior of the innocent American children, and yet see how deceptively he weasels his way through things. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that he was inventing this to draw sympathy from the bar.

I'm still saddened that Leigh would make such distasteful remarks though. I was working on a valentine for her and everything. :'(

He took things way too seriously in his futile attempts to reshape the world to his ideals, and look what happened.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is an example of why nobody should take life too seriously. We'll never get out alive, so we're better off leading healthy, stress-free semi-serious lives until it's time for us to go.

Also, play games. Great stress reliever and a nice way to avoid taking things too seriously.

I already sent him poison candy, didn't work. I previously thought he was immune due to not having a heart, but I guess this changes that viewpoint.

I've also written his name in every death note I see, but I believe they are all fake, up until this point. I need to remember what the last one was and keep it for my own whims.

MWAHAHHAHA, BURN BABY BURN!~
