Those "five star ratings" that the official Kane & Lynch Web site used to try and trick visitors have been removed. The attention that GameBump, NeoGAF, Destructoid and other sites gave this dirty tactic obviously had an effect on Eidos taking graphics down.
Taking a look at GameBump again, they reveal a few more interesting details. Aside from an extremely snarky PR person trying to hopelessly defend the Web site's stars, an admin from the Eidos forums decided to reply to a fan's forum post about this whole situation on the misrepresentation with the star business:
You mean this is an [advertisement] that is not quite scientifically based? Wow, I never thought I would see the day an advertisement tried to sell me something.
So it's OK for a company to use a well-known graphic associated with a perfect score to promote a product? Hmm ...
