November has claimed another big videogame release; Eidos has announced that Kane & Lynch: Dead Men will hit stores on Nov. 20 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
We already knew that our wallets would be raped in the upcoming months, but who would’ve guessed that Kane & Lynch, Mass Effect, and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune would all come out on the exact same day?
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is the work of IO Interactive, the team responsible for the Hitman series and Freedom Fighters. If that isn’t reason enough to get you excited for their latest creation, you’ve probably never played any of the previously mentioned games. Additionally, you can read Nex’s impressions or watch some gameplay clips.
What’s the consensus, Dtoiders? Can you find it in your heart (and wallet) to fit Kane & Lynch into your budget or will you have to get a rain check?

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
If so, I'm getting Rock Band on launch, and I'll wait and grab the rest up as I get some cash.
Also, November 20 is my birthday. I doesn't really matter, but it's kind of cool.
And doesn't CoD4 come out in November? So many games, so little time.
Until the summer drought that is.
I think Rock Band got pushed back, either that or Amazon are assholes.
Even if it didn't get pushed back, Amazon are still assholes.
Rock band's release date is set at Nov 20th as well. I've already bemoaned this fact to a couple friends that rock band, mass effect, and uncharted all come out on the same day. I'll be passing on Kane and Lynch (initially at least) so no big deal with another log on the fire.
I cannot give up Rock Band or Mass Effect.
And Uncharted- which unfortunately will have to come later.
And rent Kane and Lynch.
Rock Band...nice but I'm in need of proper gaming.
Kane & Lynch looks good, but not fantastic. Still good though.
Uncharted? No tnx, already played Broken Sword 4 with the jungle platforming/story, and was never a big fan of Tomb Raider or Killswitch.
although a lot that have been slated for a november release have not done much in the way of news or whatnot lately... soldier of fortune 3? gears of war PC? UT2K7? i have a feeling the lack of news isn't a good sign on them coming out this year
This is the internet
The internet is not real life.
I was just trying to make a point, that's all. Not everyone here is into the rpg's, but a large enough percentage is clearly evident.
You have to also look at what Mass Effect is doing, which is taking rpgs in a new and excellent direction. Perhaps you should do some digging on Mass Effect (go to gametrailers and watch the videos of it) and you'll see why its 90 (guesstimate, but I know its a lot more than you make out) of 360 owners list. I want to play this more than Halo 3 I just got.
If Mass Effect isn't number one by early december I'd be very surprised.
Kayne and Lynch will get bought eventually....yeah, I'll go with that.
However, Mass Effect is a priority one, we've waited long enough for it.
Of course, Mass Effect will also get a look see.
Oh well, thats what Credit Cards are for ;)
I'll give Uncharted a rental, but I have zero interest in Mass Effect.
The last time rpgs got that mainstream boost was when FFVII made an impact back on PS1 in 97, bringing in a lot of new gamers with it (yes, I was a once staunch Nintendo gamer, and I was one of them). Check you gaming history. Since then, I go where the good games are regardless of system, so long as money can provide.
Hey, I don't want this to decend into fanboy crap, cause I hate that and prefer good dicussion not bs name trading (forgive my insult but its on your nametag on each post Cerbus).
But the fact remains, Mass Effect is a big 360 title, like it or not. You don't think so just because its an rpg, you have a lot to learn about Mass Effect. The same way Bioshock brought a lot of people into an fps, when they'd never touched one (even female gamers), its possible Mass Effect may have the ability to do the same thing, despite it being an rpg in its own way. That's all I'm saying. If you dispute my view (you are entitled to your opinion) then back it up with some evidence, that gamers aren't looking forward to Mass Effect. I bet I'll find more positives on the net than negatives in your favour.
Take a look at Bioware's track record for there previous games while you are at it. Their rpgs might not be in the jrpg mold, but are damn cool.
Sorry for insulting you (its a game I don't like to play and only usually use it as a last resort), but I'd be more welcoming if you point had some stronger basis. So, do enlighten me, Cerbus.
