Kane & Lynch's release to rival Mass Effect, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune photo

November has claimed another big videogame release; Eidos has announced that Kane & Lynch: Dead Men will hit stores on Nov. 20 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

We already knew that our wallets would be raped in the upcoming months, but who would’ve guessed that Kane & Lynch, Mass Effect, and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune would all come out on the exact same day?

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is the work of IO Interactive, the team responsible for the Hitman series and Freedom Fighters. If that isn’t reason enough to get you excited for their latest creation, you’ve probably never played any of the previously mentioned games. Additionally, you can read Nex’s impressions or watch some gameplay clips.

What’s the consensus, Dtoiders? Can you find it in your heart (and wallet) to fit Kane & Lynch into your budget or will you have to get a rain check?

Isn't that the same day as Rock Band as well? (I could be wrong)

If so, I'm getting Rock Band on launch, and I'll wait and grab the rest up as I get some cash.

Seeing as I don't own a next-gen console (instead I have a DX10 PC) I might think about Kane and Lynch, if I can fit in in my holiday gaming budget.

Also, November 20 is my birthday. I doesn't really matter, but it's kind of cool.

That sucks. I'll be on the Mass Effect bandwagon. I have to at least give it a try.

And doesn't CoD4 come out in November? So many games, so little time.

Until the summer drought that is.

Call of Duty 4 is the 5th, I think. That'll be the one I'm most interested in (other than RB).

Holy crap, two months left? I have not been saving accordingly.

I think Rock Band got pushed back, either that or Amazon are assholes.

Even if it didn't get pushed back, Amazon are still assholes.

Rock band's release date is set at Nov 20th as well. I've already bemoaned this fact to a couple friends that rock band, mass effect, and uncharted all come out on the same day. I'll be passing on Kane and Lynch (initially at least) so no big deal with another log on the fire.

I don't know, I mean, I feel sort of odd saying it, but I'm really not excited at all for Kane & Lynch. Just nothing about it particularly grabbed me when I watching gamepley videos. Looked like really average "go from point A to point B, also shoot some cops" sort of action. I could very well be wrong and my opinion could change come release time, but, for now, if I was to sink my money into any of those games, it'd probably be Mass Effect.

I will surely be picking up this one and Uncharted.I see Mass Effect appealing to a small gamer niche and not going to get much attention from other gamers.

Oh, well, damn. If Rock Band's coming out that day, I'm gonna have to spend my cash on that, then. Thankfully my birthday's the 23rd so I should get a free game or two out of it, anyway.

I know what you mean blehman. I already preordered COD4 and Assassin's Creed. Now I don't have any cash to spend on Kane & Lynch. Makes me sad. I've never been too interested in Mass Effect, so I think I'll wait for the reviews first.

Mass Effect has to be the most awaited 360 games, next to Halo 3 this year (sorry to break it to you Cerbus. I know Mass Effect is my main November purchase. Kane and Lynch looks good but I'll have to see what a demo offers.

Rock Band...nice but I'm in need of proper gaming.

Uncharted? No tnx, already played Broken Sword 4 with the jungle platforming/story, and was never a big fan of Tomb Raider or Killswitch.

november 13th gets a bunch of stuff too... I think prettymuch every week for the next two months has at least two "heavily anticipated" games

although a lot that have been slated for a november release have not done much in the way of news or whatnot lately... soldier of fortune 3? gears of war PC? UT2K7? i have a feeling the lack of news isn't a good sign on them coming out this year

In agreement with blehman, here. Bioware's releases tend to garner a lot of attention from the gaming world (PC and console players alike), so I'd be *very* surprised if Mass Effect only appealed to a small section of fans.

Cerbus, I'm afraid you need to check your facts, newb. You say a smaller number of people. Is it that same small number of people that put Bioshock at number one out of nowhere? Bioshock is great (I love it) but had much less coverage than Mass Effect and has done great. I have no doubt Mass Effect is gonna clean November house.

You have to also look at what Mass Effect is doing, which is taking rpgs in a new and excellent direction. Perhaps you should do some digging on Mass Effect (go to gametrailers and watch the videos of it) and you'll see why its 90 (guesstimate, but I know its a lot more than you make out) of 360 owners list. I want to play this more than Halo 3 I just got.

If Mass Effect isn't number one by early december I'd be very surprised.

Kane and Lynch Dead Men is on my list. It looks very much in the vein of Freedom Fighters (a game I still love) but with a gritty crime story of some sort and dual team play. The footage I've seen has convinced me I want it too.

However, Mass Effect is a priority one, we've waited long enough for it.

I like how xbots start calling ppl newbs. Only newbs i see here are all the ppl trying to make a point that have no idea what they are talking about. Since when have RPGs been that popular in the main? RPGs are picked up by select few who like playing genre for 70+ hours.

I really don't know who you are calling an xbot, you are making assumptions from nowhere, cause I own and play all my collection of consoles. In the end I'll own 360, Wii and PS3 (when the price gets reasonable and real).

The last time rpgs got that mainstream boost was when FFVII made an impact back on PS1 in 97, bringing in a lot of new gamers with it (yes, I was a once staunch Nintendo gamer, and I was one of them). Check you gaming history. Since then, I go where the good games are regardless of system, so long as money can provide.

Hey, I don't want this to decend into fanboy crap, cause I hate that and prefer good dicussion not bs name trading (forgive my insult but its on your nametag on each post Cerbus).

But the fact remains, Mass Effect is a big 360 title, like it or not. You don't think so just because its an rpg, you have a lot to learn about Mass Effect. The same way Bioshock brought a lot of people into an fps, when they'd never touched one (even female gamers), its possible Mass Effect may have the ability to do the same thing, despite it being an rpg in its own way. That's all I'm saying. If you dispute my view (you are entitled to your opinion) then back it up with some evidence, that gamers aren't looking forward to Mass Effect. I bet I'll find more positives on the net than negatives in your favour.

Take a look at Bioware's track record for there previous games while you are at it. Their rpgs might not be in the jrpg mold, but are damn cool.

Sorry for insulting you (its a game I don't like to play and only usually use it as a last resort), but I'd be more welcoming if you point had some stronger basis. So, do enlighten me, Cerbus.
