Kane & Lynch film in the works photo

Lionsgate studio's has bought the rights to make a film based on Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. The big name actors they are trying to get for the main roles are Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton. The script for the movie has apparently already been written and Michael Bay is set to produce the film. The Times report also brings up a good point at stating that "The project marks the first time a studio has bet on making a major game-based film before the release of the game itself."

The whole premise of Kane & Lynch has always felt like it could be a movie already so I don't think this will turn out too bad. Plus, if the master of action films, Bruce Willis, actually comes on, then the movie will do great regardless of the suckage. I don't see Billy Bob as a good choice though. Granted, I hate the son of a llama and can't stand his acting. If you could choose who would play Kane & Lynch, who would you pick?

I really wanted this game to be good, but reviews are saying otherwise.

Oh well, I will probably pick it up anyway.

As for the movie, I would rather they get a couple of no name guys that looked and sounded the part, rather then banking on star power.

I don't have anyone particular in mind for these roles. I don't care who plays them as long as they don't suck. I might watch/rent this movie and rent the game when they come out.

i agree with Jim on Robert Patrick as Kane. If I had to cast Lynch, I'd recommend someone like John Malkovich. I'd just have to get over the inital shock of seeing Malkovich with a skullet after seeing him bald all the time.

This is awesome, actually. I think Billy Bob could do good in the part, honestly.

Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs) as Kane and Liam Niesen (Star Wars Ep I) as Lynch.

I can see the resemblance and both of them are quite badass in their own way.

I actually just watched Heat (great film) and the guy who plays Waingro (the dude that double crosses Robert De Niro) is a DEAD RINGER for Lynch. His name is Kevin Gage.

The moment he walked on the screen I did a double take. I seriously think Lynch could have been modeled after him. Check him out on IMDB. He doesn't quite look the part currently, but if you can find a pic of him from the film, you'd crap your pants. The resemblance is that uncanny.

Every ad I see for this game I think of Dave "Gruber" Allen from Freaks & Geeks/Naked Trucker & T-Bones...

Kevin Gage is perfect...funny that a game modeled after every michael mann film would find the actors for the roles in one of those films.

Off topic here but does the female character represented in the poster actually have a role/plot point in the real game? If so I may have to buy it just to find out. Lynch I believe should go to the Spanish duded but kane, thats a tough choice. Has too be someone with the right face. No one comes to mind right now but I would take Viggo Mortensen on sheer acting value if I thought the makeup people could make him look like Kane.

This movie has already been made!

"Bandits", starring Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton:

(From Wikipedia) "Two friends and convicts, one charismatic Joe, (Bruce Willis), the other neurotic Terry, (Billy Bob Thornton) break out of Oregon State Penitentiary in a cement truck and start a bank robbing spree... successfully pull off a series of robberies that gets them recognition on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list.

Obviously the plot is not the same, but the characters might as well be, the similarities are more than just passing. What I'm getting at here is that I already paid to see this pair of actors in this movie six years ago. Or rather i rented this movie six years ago. So yeah.

didnt bruce willis and billy bob thorton already do a movie where they played a pair of escaped convicts that rob a bank and hilarity ensues?
couldnt they just take that script and mash it with heist and get the same effect?

Just have to say Ray liotta would be a great choice if he'd agree ( he did do smokin aces and Control so dont count him out) the character Kane reminded me alot of his characters. As for Kane Paul Giamatti. case closed
