Kane & Lynch 2's 'Fragile Alliance' multiplayer preview
Destructoid is bringing you previews of Kane & Lynch 2's multiplayer mode ever Wednesday this month! Today we're looking at the "Fragile Alliance" mode, which is more or less an online version of the "Arcade" mode that you learned about last week. The difference here is that you and seven other human players will be stealing the cash and need to flee the scene within the time limit. The other difference is that players that get killed will respawn as cops. As a cop, you'll have to stop the criminals from making it to the escape vehicle and you can pocket some cash while you're at it. Greedy players will have a harder time in this mode as they won't respawn when killed until the next round begins. It'll be easier to spot the potential d-bags too, as players will have a loyalty meter and are given titles based on how they've played their last 25 online matches. Kane & Lynch 2 will have offline and online leaderboards for each mode. The game will also notify your friends when you've gotten a higher score then they have. A nice touch that more games need to incorporate. As I see it, "Arcade" mode is kind of a tutorial for "Fragile Alliance." As soon as you've gotten the hang of things, you'll want to jump online for a real challenge against actual people. That element of "is that assh*le going to betray me?" adds a lot of fun to the multi. For more on Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, check out our single-player preview and our video interview with Multiplayer Director Kim Krogh. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
