I gotta say, played the demo. It didn't grab me. Maybe I was playing it wrong, but I wasnt too impressed with it. Does anyone else agree with me, or should i play it again?
i ended up really liking the demo way more than i thought i would. i went from being mildly interested to i'm definitely preordering this that quick.
I'm looking forward to Other M. The only way I'm touching this is if there's any sort of deal on Steam. Doesn't look bad, just not up my alley.
At first I wasn't feeling the demo, but the visual style surprisingly reeled me into the action a whole lot. The game could easily go either way though - here's hoping.
In the demo walked into an alley way and saw a Chinese man smiling. I put a gun to his face and he didn't react at all. This was three minutes into the Demo. After that I said screw it and quit the demo.
I'm sorta mixed on the Demo. the story mode felt solid, but the Multiplayer seems buggy. Maybe not so much in actual gameplay, but seeing people floating instead of walking sorta kills the immersion. That and enemies overall seem like they're moving fast-forward sometimes. With the visual style though, it's hard to know if that's intentional.
I was really surprised after playing the demo how much I liked it. The game play was accessible (good for me since I don't play a lot of shooters), the story was interesting and the "home video camera" style was awesome, kind of reminded me of how I thought Cloverfeild looked awesome.
As someone who grew up watching cops kick the door open to some crack-head's domicile with cameraman in tow, I feel right at home with this game. I'll be picking it up.
I'm really looking forward to this. It's how the second half of the first game should have played out instead of that nonsense with The Seven. It's exactly the kind of intimate story the characters needed. This is going to be intense, going by that torture scene at least.
The controls take a little getting used to, as strafing back an forth in cover felt really loose. But the look of this game is actually really interesting. I'm usually the type of person to sway away from things like Blair Witch or Cloverfield because of the shaking camera. This game however uses it well.
I know the first one was pretty bad, but I loved it. This series always gives me the "If Reservoir Dogs was an action film" vibe, and I fucking love it.
After living in China for several years, I get a warm feeling whenever I return. I expected some kind of nostalgic feeling when I was starting the demo. But it feels nothing like China... maybe Chinatown. It left me with a very empty feeling.
Tried the PC demo and it ran like ass.
Checked their forum, and it seems I'm not the only one who has a PC exceeding the requirements, yet with big framerate issues.
I think I'll pass on this one. I wanted to try the original, but the PC version doesn't work, and Eidos has known about it for years, but still hasn't released a patch. Not a good sign.
