Like it or not, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is happening, and IO has released a (presumably intentional) low-fi trailer to celebrate. The video shows that schizophrenic maniac James Seth Lynch actually seems to be somewhat settled down with a female companion, while the more level-headed Kane is up to no good, and apparently in a very bad situation. S'pretty kick-ass.
The trailer is chaotic, violent and rather screwed up, which is what one expects from a Kane & Lynch video. Like the last game, the promotion is looking sleek and epic, but of course we'll have to see how the final game comes out before making any judgements.
Having recently beat the original game for the first time a few weeks ago, I'm looking forward to Dog Days. I explained in an article why I felt the game had serious potential and was nowhere as bad as people say, and I think that if IO Interactive can learn from its mistakes, Dog Days will be a seriously good game. You may choose a more cynical approach, but screw it -- I am excited for a Kane & Lynch game.

Meet the rest of the team
I played Kane and Lynch for the PC and I really enjoyed it. I didn't think it was as terrible as anyone else though, and even though the story was ludicrous the characters were awesome.
Friggin sweet trailer.
I never got the dumping this game got from the community. On a true 1-10 scale, a 6.5 or 7(if you're playing split screen co-op) out of 10 is what I'd score it. It's a lot of fun, and because of the co-op, I've played it more than once.
It was like playing a bunch of Michael Mann films, the only let down being the jungle level (coincidentally the same disappointment in the original Hitman game).
The trailer looks pretty cool. Oddly enough, the Google advertisement at the beginning had me thinking Kane or Lynch were searching their way towards their next heist. Other than that along with Lynch looking a bit like Jack Nicholson, there's some genuine potential in a sequel.
One of the best trailers i've ever seen
I wonder how was Lynch able to settle down and even get a girlfriend.
or maybe he's having hallucinations again.
If you look at the end of the trailer he is obviously looking at a prescription bottle. He apparently is taking a lot of meds to treat his hallucinations.
He did so in the first game, too. He calls them "stomach pills." If you ask me, it looks like he's considering whether or not to take them. This could, of course, mean fucked up things.
Looks like Kane got himself in a mess in Japan (the architecture of the buildings, the playground, the title in neon signage typical to the area). Quite an effective trailer.
Sick ass trailer, actually really sick...but I think I'm through getting excited about games via teaser trailers that don't feature gameplay. L4D2's trailer mislead everyone into thinking that the new survivors would be full of character, and we all know that didn't exactly turn out to be the case.

Solid: Huh, I actually thought it was Lynch who was in Japan, not Kane. Evidenced by the lights outside Lynch's bathroom window and the accent of the woman. The game is also based in Japan I think, so the idea that Kane would "fly in" from the States or something makes more sense.
Could be wrong of course, but I have a feeling Lynch is the one who ended up in Japan.
For Kane, was that really Japan? You'd think sirens would be ringing out already in the background; was more given the impression it was simply a city with very low police surveillance, thus why who ever was shooting Kane were just other criminals.
@The Cast: Japan isn't all cities, it's full of rural towns and open fields. I assume it's Japan because those places have the same kind of low-rise buildings you see in the trailer; there's just something unique about the architecture over there.
Also, did anybody notice that Kane tells the woman with the child (off-screen screaming) to get out of the way fire? Nice little nod to how Jenny still haunts him.
It looks more like the UK then Japan to me judging by the architecture, the football field and park. If only you could see the car's registration plate...ah well.
Looks awesome... very cinematic, very in the tone of the original. Like Jim I thought the first game was good despite a lot of flaws and I can't wait to see how the story ends up coming out.
Yes, the "low quality" grainy type look is on purpose as a type of style they are going with for the new game.
Also, they (though IO has only said this, no one has actually played it) claim to have overhauled the entire shooting system and put a new one in, improving the entire gameplay structure as far as controls go.
And if they do accomplish that...I'm in the "excited for" camp.
Knowing a thing or two about schizos (not important how, nosy bastards) I'll bet a hundred fake dollars that Lynch's wife in the trailer? All his head and voices talking to him.
Most likely he's imagining he's back living with his wife he killed, blanking out that it ever happened.
Time will tell if I'm right, but if it is that would hold true of his condition to have moments like that.

Man, Kane can't do anything right!

That was messed up in the best of ways.

Yay.

I would even consider playing it to the last ending if it shows up a good game.
