I'm glad the hit detection has been improved, though, as it was one of my biggest complaints in the original.
One thing that annoys me is the visual filter. I'd love to have the ability to turn it off. It's a cool effect for a few minutes, but then it just makes the display look ugly and muddy.
Also, the sub-HD resolution doesn't help. This game doesn't run at native 720p, so it has a sub-HD look to it (i.e. slightly more washed out in comparison to games that run at native HD resolutions). Alan Wake and Splinter Cell: Conviction also fall victim to a sub-HD resolution, but at least both of those games are pretty graphically outstanding most of the time.
I understand that the filter hides what is otherwise a very dated game, especially in texture quality, but I'd much prefer seeing the dated visuals instead of having the annoying filter. Sure, it looks edgy. Sure, it preys on the new generation who love crap like Cloverfield. However, I like to see a clear and crisp image, not a messy mess of messiness.
Other than that, it was a standard third-person shooter. It's not excellent, it's not bad. It's somewhere inbetween, though.
However, Kane & Lynch are still great characters, so I expect the story to carry this one through.
Although, I already think the use of the "handycam" filter is fucking brilliant. Just need that PC demo to see if I can run it.
Also I picked up the first game in the recent steam sales. I really don't understand the hate. It's a flawed game but so much better than what I'd been expecting.
I don't know why that happens sometimes but I doubt its the first time you've seen accidental double-post on Dtoid comments. Funny comment though.
