Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days gets first screenshots photo

Following on from yesterday's full trailer, IO Interactive has let some fresh new screens for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days slip onto the Internet. Although the selection is small, we get a good idea of what James Seth Lynch and Adam "Kane" Marcus will be getting up to in Shanghai -- shooting. Lots of shooting.

Interestingly enough, the screens seem to depict the same low-fi visual style as the trailer did, making everything look like it's been filmed with a bad mobile phone cam. It's not yet known if that's just for all the promo material, or if the game itself will have a similar visual effect. Could be quite interesting.

In any case, I still think Kane & Lynch has massive potential as a game series and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Dog Days. I really hope it turns out well for IO this time around.

Hell yes. I bought the 1st one for $12 after reading Jim's revisited article, and if they tighten up everything this one should kick-ass.

I also like the grainy style, and the setting.

I wouldn't play it if it had grain that bad the whole game.

Mass Effect had film grain also, but you had the option to turn it off. Maybe Dog Days will do the same.

I'm really digging the grainy look. These screens, coupled with the trailer from a few days ago, is making me want to get the first game.

it was confirmed in official playstation magazine uk that it is gonna have the "mobile phone" look during gameplay with the camera moving round like someone is following you round with a camera phone

Sometimes I think you have too much faith in this Jim.

It looks great I loved the concepts introduced in the original only to be let down by the poor execution. There's hope there just it needs to know where to improve. For the record I enjoyed the game before Jim went about redeeming it's awesomeness by character development and ways of narrating itself. :P

I'm playing the first one now, and I'm really getting into it. It's not the trite gameplay that's keeping me going, it's the dynamic characters that are keeping me going. This game looks pretty cool too, hope they tighten everything up!

Jim, in the new gameinformer they have a preview which confirms that the game is viewed from the grainy, being watched look. Just thought I'd let you know.

This looks like doo doo. I don't like grain filters in games, it makes playing them rather difficult, not to mention it tarnishes what beauty might actually be in the graphics.

it's too bad the first one played like a valu bin game.

hopefully, but i doubt, they learned their lesson. Hitman's formula isn't great so don't try and exploit a weak point.

I said this before, but then no one reads my stuff.

But I'll amuse myself with repeating in a new thread: Yes, the Kane And Lynch stuff is grainy on purpose.
Yes, the game will be like that, going for what they want to be gritty and almost as if the game camera were something you'd see off YouTube (I don't really get the YouTube reference, I guess Sweden has bad internet connections).
But the actual developers told all this to Game Informer. So yeah, if grainy images or shaky cameras bug you, you can already write off Kane And Lynch from your games to keep an eye on. It's not just a trailer thing.
Me, I'm excited because I think IO are good enough developers to learn from past mistakes.
