Just Cause movie is happening just 'cause photo

As reported by Variety, the rights to make a film out of Just Cause have been acquired from Eidos by Adrian Askarieh, who is currently working on producing a Kane & Lynch movie as well.

You might also recall that Askarieh was the producer responsible for a film based on another videogame, Hitman, which I regrettably had the chance to catch last week when it was on TV. I can still hardly believe I watched the movie from beginning to end.

If there's one thing that made Just Cause enjoyable, it was the game's phenomenal storyline, not its hilariously awesome grappling hook/base-jumping action. Oh wait.

I watched Hitman on DVD, and its a pretty mediocre movie, imo. I watched it to about half, and I got sick of it. It just didn't capture the essence of Hitman games.

Well, looks like 2012/2013 will be the year of the videogame movie. Lets hope atleast one of them will not suck. (Just a guessitmate for all these videogame movie projects that have been popping up lately)

Oh gawd no. I loved this game, easily one of my all time favorites even through its many faults. If this Askarieh person doesn't do it justice I'll rip his bollocks off.

Loved the game... not sure it is movie material, but you never know I guess.

What is it with games and movies? They just don't mix. Wanna make a movie from a game? Don't bother. Wanna make a game about a movie? Kill yourself and stop wasting everybody's time.

If you take the Hitman movie as just an action movie and disregard it's videogame roots it's pretty decent IMO. Actually I suppose if you consider it's videogame roots it's pretty excellent compared to a lot of others in the past. Anyways I guess my point is that it's probably best this guy has this rather than say, Ewe Boll.

Seems like they're putting a lot of faith into Just Cause 2... cause the first one didn't really do that well. If there weren't a JC2 coming out, I would wonder why the hell they're making this movie in the first place.
