This is what people were asking for? Don't get me wrong -- it looks cool as fuck. But I would have thought more people would have preferred re-releases of Alpha 3 or CvsS2.
i've been looking for these franchise for a long time now.
most of the KOF characters like Benimaru were influence by this series.
even Juri Han from SSFIV was influence by Jolyne Kujo.

ehh i prefer this to CVS2, not alone this game is rare as hell, plus the animation is godlike, the way the use those supers is sooo bizarre i fucking love it.
plus CVS2 and Alpha series will surely have their HD remaster.

Considering Jojo's is getting started back up with a brand new fighter unrelated to this one and a new anime, it's the best time to re-release it. Also, no one plays Alpha 3 anymore, and CvS2 is held up in licensing hell.

Benimaru is the only KOF character I know of that was inspired by Jojo. (Polnareff, to be precise.) There are other KOF characters with other anime/manga inspirations, though (Chris inspired by a character from Rurouni Kenshin, Shermie inspired by a character from Saber Marionette, etc.)

Can we make it a rule that it can't be called an HD remake unless the sprites are re-drawn it's widescreen? "Upscale" or "cash-in" would be a better thing to call this.
Yeah punchin' dudes! This game is pretty ridiculous and pretty great too. I've always considered it the hipster choice in fighting games because of it's 80's influence in style, pastel colors and ironic masculine-ness of it all.
I wish people would stop complaining about the price; I spent nearly £60 on mine and it was worth every penny.
What Alex said. I paused during the side by sides, and there's very little difference. It's almost like Capcom is pushing this out with very little work done at the inflated price of 20 bones.
There's barely going to be a difference because there's very little you can do to update pre-existing 2D spirtes. Bumping up the resolution and adding anti-aliasing is going to be the best you can do, unless you want a complete redraw. But none of the fighting game companies have true 2D artists and animators anymore other than SNK.
20 bucks for an old emulated arcade game with a smoothness filter applied to make it look HD? Yeah, sounds like Capcom alright...
I'll buy it. It's way too much to ask for an upgraded emulation, but I'd like to play it on my 360, plus there's more of a chance they'll translate/release more JoJo stuff in the west if there's an obvious audience.

I used to play this game endlessly back when I had my PS1. I'm glad to see its getting a re-release, since I never really see or hear about it much. Sadly, not really a significant improvement in graphics, especially regarding the in-game sprites 0_o
So correct me if I am wrong but this and p4 arena seem to pretty much be almost the exact same game in a lot of ways.

K9999 isn't even inspired by Tetsuo, he is not legally distinct enough to be allowed to ever see the light of day ever again. K9999 is exactly the point where a fighting game goes too far.
Also, to add to it, Guile's hair is based off of a Cyborg Nazi from the series, named Stroheim, Rose is from the same series, Joseph's (the guy rocking the old Indy look) mother, Lisa Lisa. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a hundred influences from this series after 25 years of absolutely bizarre and surprisingly fabulous horror-adventure.
This game is DEFINITELY worth a look-see, though the price is still a tad high, I'll be getting it definitely.

OK, I'm glad this is coming out, but I'd still rather have Warzard, as I have yet to get it to successfully run on MAME.
If anything else, I'll take online versions of the Darkstalkers collection released on PS2 in JP, Project Justice and CVS2.

Also, anybody who can't tell the difference between original and HD ver: the filters make it look worse.
I figure the high price is because of paying for licensing to use the IP, not because of the development. In any case, I'm all for getting GGPO versions of old games on consoles, though I really do hope they get CVS2 out someday just because it's not so easy to emulate and play online like some older games.
I really want this, but $20 is a lot of money for me... I may wait. I'll probably just download the Dreamcast version, get to know the systems and then buy the full version to take my shizz online.
This game is coming out because it is the 25th anniversary of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure manga series.
I agree with Alex and ScottyG. The only thing that looks to have been smoothed out are the black lines. O_o

I was just thinking about ZA WARUDO a while back. Now if only Rival Schools; Project Justice were to get a re-release that would be both my favourite fighters.
