It's really easy for people to hate big faceless corporations. EA is just a scapegoat for what people see wrong in the gaming industry, even though they publish some of the best and popular games.
Tristix, dude. I swear you constantly takes words from my mouth. There are so many instances where I come to post something here, and you always beat me to it!
Most of my hate is reserved for inanimate objects that don't behave to my liking and/or stub my toes. Anything else, least of all a games company, isn't worth the bother.

I really dislike EA's business practices, so I just don't give them my business. Sure I miss out on some games, but I'm not gonna go to a restaurant if I know they spit in my food, even if I really like their tacos.

I don't hate them, just finding after some company hooks up with them stuff I like seems to go downhill/get homogenized.
People should've bought Alice: Madness Returns, Mirror's Edge, The Saboteur, Brutal Legend, etc. :( EA tried hard to get our love but we didn't love it back. Now we have old EA back. Yay!

I cant deny EA has some great games and IP I love.

Got burned with ea twice with dead space 2 and mass effect 3 after the horrendous day one dlc that lasted an for an hour that was already on the disc and the fact the game was shipped and rushed with no freaking ending I'm done with ea and bioware I'm probably no going to buy overstrike next year because insomniac are being partnered with them
Don't hate EA, just their business practices. As the type of gamer that I am, a lot of these business practices are sort scaring me and threatening to me as a gamer. I don't have my xbox hooked to the internet so I can't download day 1 DLC, or take advantage of these games who have 50 percent of their resources devoted to online play. That's part of the reason I'm always hating on DLC, forced multiplayer, and other such business practices. Some people say that games today are better than ever, but I seriously don't agree, they seem to be getting worse, if only because I can hardly ever buy a full game anymore without preordering the collectors edition of a game, clearing space off of my harddrive, and lugging my xbox half way across the state to my friend's house who has access to his wifi router.
On another note, once again, I seriously don't see why Activision is getting hate. I always ask why, and never get an answer. All I can see wrong with them is how they run franchises into the ground, but that doesn't make them evil, just skip every other iteration of their games or something.

I guess I've never played the popular EA games because I've never had any problems with an EA game. BF3 and ME3 work and played just fine. What are the extremely popular games that are having such bad issues that we must hate EA more than aids?

after watching the EA press Conference at E3, it made me realise how shit they've made their games. means i'm not buying any EA games anymore

Im very much with Jim here. I also used to like EA and how they were trying to make better games and not just knock out yearly sequals.

So is the only reason to hate Activision their tendency to release game installments too frequently? Is that why I never get an answer why they deserve hate? Is it just because they make Call of Duty?
I mean, you could argue that they WERE greedy with DLC and such, but they seem to have gotten better, MW3 in particular had more than fairly priced DLC when you bought the subscription. Are they still doing anything that is notably heinous?

Because people are brain washed and stupid. Why not hate on Activison for coming up with Elite and are still charging for map content, at least that's my friends experience.
I actually had to look up what EA puts out after reading this. I always hear about them, Ubisoft and Activision getting hated on, so I guess my pasta-noodle-brains just lump them all together now and then. I just don't like most of what they put out. Why bother hating on a publisher when I can just research games that I want and find "Day One DLC," "DRM," or "subscription fees" and automatically go "nope."
The only time I really complain is when a company botches a game I was really looking forward to. But my brains are too pasta-noodly to keep devoting energy to people who don't want my money anyway.
