Putting that aside though, the game does look cool!
That is totally the wrong way to market this. Not only is it wrong in the sense that dungeon crawlers never went anyway, it also completely fails to describe what the game is like, which is a shooter/hack n' slash hybrid. Very silly statement from the dev, there.
Games's great, but PR statements like that could really draw a backlash.
This game looks cool, and it's definitely something I'd probably dig, but this developer cxouldn't even make Hei$t happen after 4-5 years. And Codemasters isn't a hard developer to please (i.e. Damnation, Turning Point, OPF: DR, etc.). So Hei$t must've been in a really bad state.
This game looks kinda fun and same screen Co-op = buy as my GF liked the video.
@Max: I'd have to second what Jim said; it did not feel like a dungeon crawler at all. To me a good example of a console version of that genre would be the Dark Alliance series on PS2. Hunted felt nothing like that. I didn't play the warrior so I can't comment on his gameplay, but the Elf was very close to Jim's description of fantasy Gears of War. The engine (I believe Unreal as well) probably adds to that effect as well.
Overall I enjoyed the few minutes I played of it. It did feel more like a weekend rental with a friend or 'wait for a price drop' title, but I definitely will be following it now.
