Oh and Dragula was licensed for like 5,678,579 video games. It must have the record. Not like Rob Zombie isn't awesome or anything.
I never owned a dreamcast or JSR but I played the crap out of JSRF. I've tried to play through JSR on emulators but I've always run into conflicts. I can't wait for this to hit.
If the feature from the Sega Dreamcast version that let players download images from the Internet is intact, it looks to be a perfect port...somehow.
I turned out some nifty (read:'obscene') grafitti tags in Jet Set Radio Future but now everything is stuck on its harddrive. Just being able to upload images to some image hosting site then downloading them off of the Internet to the console's memory devices, while roundabout and more complex than it seems like it needs to be, is still the best option for in-game tags.
I'll try to be positive about this so as not to even come close to risking jinxing this re-release in any possible way.

I'm conflicted on this game. I HATED Jet Grind Radio, but I love JSRF. If this game doesn't sell well, chances of a sequel happening are lessened, and I want a sequel. I just don't want to spend my cash on a game I've played well enough to know I won't enjoy it.

Was this game a cult classic just because of the graphical style and awesome soundtrack, or does it actually have good/great gameplay to back it up?
I've never played it, I don't really know how it's played (and I'm afraid to find out and ruin the surprise since I'll probably buy it no matter what just because of teh hype).
But this trailer makes it look a bit like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for N64/PS1. Which I liked the heck out of, so hopefully this is good too.

@Piggygamer - It was out when trick sports titles were big, but threw in the grafitti tag and cop-chase elements to give it its own unique flavor. The graffiti is a bit more important than the tricking, though, and the tricks are not as extensive or carpel-tunnel inducing.
Its a cult classic because it was a good game overall with a personality that still hasn't been repeated since. There have been other grafitti games since then, but none as inspired.

I like how everyone that loved JSRF are looking forward to this, even though JGR was not nearly as good as the sequel.
I already played JSR HD by means of emulation, however I will be copin this for the new tags and in hopes that it will encourage SEGA to make a new one.
I'm so happy for this! Been expecting several years actually and I played JSRF (Bundled with Sega GT 2002 for the Original Xbox) at least for 100 hours it was that great for me, so different, original and enjoyable at the same time, I loved it so much that my little brother accidentally broke the disc...and what did I do?...go and purchase another one haha.

Can't wait. It seems like I'm the complete opposite of most posters, though. I loved JGR but could never bring myself to finish JSRF. I really disliked the simplified graffiti and removal of time limits.

Gonna hold off on this for a bit and see if a Vita port doesn't happen. Kinda thinking it will. *shrug*
Ah the nostalgia. That honestly brought a tear to my eye. I loved this game, and JSRF so much. One of the few games that I have tried to unlock everything, including characters, graffiti tags and souls.
Now, lets hope that Jet Set Radio Next can still be on Sega's drawing board somewhere.

I played JSRF as a bundled title with Sega GT on the original Xbox and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to this one.

I think Dragula has the Guinesss World Record for most appearances in video games lol. Surprisingly, I don't think it was in any of the rock bands or Guitar Hero games.
