Jazzpunk is a new Spyberpunk comedy for your videograph

11:30 AM on 10.22.2012

Necrophone Games, developer behind the neat Android title Beetlenaut, is heading to PC with a comedy adventure game known as Jazzpunk. The game's been silently in development for a long time -- and I know, because I was doing voiceover tests for it ages ago.

That was a hint that I'm involved with the game in a very tiny way.

Here's a teaser trailer for it. It's been getting folks excited. I'm pretty excited, too!

Review: Jazzpunk

Describing Jazzpunk is pretty damn hard. It's billed as a "comedy adventure game," but it's so much more (and sometimes less) than that. It's packed full of references, oddball minigames, and voicework that will make you laugh more often than not. For those reasons alone, it's not going to be for everyone. Unless you really like the idea of squirting a can of Cheez Whiz on Jim Sterling.more

This Jazzpunk communist breakfast cereal is amazing

One of the difficulties with comedy is that describing or paraphrasing a joke frequently makes it cease to be funny, so it's hard to convey Jazzpunk's charm without completely squashing its humor in the process. However,...more

Trippy cyberpunk comedy spy thriller Jazzpunk is my jam

I'd be convinced Jazzpunk was made by some actually-talented, alternate universe me, for me, if I didn't meet and chat with one half of its creative team, Necrophone Games' Luis Hernandez, for myself. It's a first-person joke...more

Review: The Walking Dead Season 2: Amid the Ruins

The last episode of The Walking Dead was probably my favorite one yet -- and that's including all of Lee's tale from the first season. Clem has made the switch from tough to full-on badass depending on your choices, and ...more

Almost a year to the day after its announcement, Wayward Manor from author Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Sandman) and the team behind  The Misadventures of P.B.
