Do you know what Sony's Ad-Hoc Party is? We saw a demonstration at Tokyo Game Show this year. It is software that adds to the PSP's online abilities through a net-connected PS3. Basically, it's a PSP link to the PlayStation Network using the PS3. There's even voice chat and PSEye cam support. Although in Japanese, the above video does a good job of demonstrating how it works.

When the beta first launched, only a couple dozen titles were supported. Siliconera reports that a new update as added a ton of new title support. The freshly launched Dissidia: Final Fantasy supports online fighting now. Lots of the fighters you could only play in person are now supported via Ad-Hoc Party. Even Echocrome allows level trading via the software. A full list follows the jump.

I hope we see support for Ad-Hoc Party here. This really opens up the PSP for online play. For now, if you have a Japanese PSN account, you can download this and get started today. And, if you're an avid importer, you're likely to have a few of these titles.

Well, good for them! I'm glad those rich fools who own both systems for some reason finally have a unique, decently-supported feature at their disposal. It's just a shame OutRun 2006 couldn't utilize it.

I - er...that's a long list with minimal content...

A few things look promising though, I guess it's something. The PS3 support looks like a good idea, I guess we'll see if it works!

Dissidia? YAY! I would totally get Monster Hunter Freedom Unite if they launch this just in time.

Considering most of the traffic on XKai is PSP users playing MH3, this should get a lot of interest in Japan.
