Aaron Greenberg. You knew, didn't you? It's coming, isn't it?
I asked Microsoft's Director of Product Management for Xbox 360, Aaron Greenberg, if we'd ever see the 250GB hard drive from the Xbox 360 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle sold separately. Last month he told me that "it's possible."
He said, "When, where and how -- those things haven't been determined yet."
Look, man. I need that crap. My current drive is at critical, and it doesn't sound very healthy either.
Japan is getting their 250GB separate drive. It was just announced that the drive will drop on March 11th there, where it will cost 15,540 yen ($173). Of course, that price is total bullsh*t for a 250GB drive. I would tell you to import one, but seeing that price, you might be better off seeing if MS USA can do better. No North American date was given.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Nice try.
I can get a 1.5 Terabyte harddrive for my PC for £90.
Pull the other one Microsoft, its got bells on it.
I refuse to pay such ridiculous prices for a bigger one, though, so I'll suffer in the meantime.
In fact, it is half of what I paid for my MW2 console.
I'll never use it all.
I'd like to upgrade but these prices are a bit ridiculous.....
And then Microsoft wonders why people use "unauthorized memory devices"...
I know they have to make some profits but why not settle for the profits a hard drive maker do. They dont have to charge premium on EVERYTHING you plug into that piece of crap.
This is known as testing the lesser market. MS knows that the US is the big market. So they're seeing if Japanese Xbox owners really want that much space. If so, it'll get released here with a nifty marketing campaign.
It's kinda how McDonald's releases certain new menu items in limited areas to test if it should become a national offering or specialized to certain areas. The McRib gets a national test on occasion, but seems to only be really popular in certain areas. Thus I can't be guaranteed one year-round here in Boston.
