Japan gets Culdcept DS in October, US geeks cross fingers photo

Unfortunately we've heard very little about the upcoming Nintendo DS version of Culdcept to date. The super geeky strategy/card battle game series makes for a great online experience on the Xbox 360, but having a portable version would be a dream come true. For us geeks.

An update comes to us today by way of Siliconera. It seems that Japan will get their hands on Culdcept DS on October 16th. It will feature online play, naturally. You can meet up with up to four of your nerdy friends, or be matched up with some ass that has been stacking his deck. You'll also be able to dress up your character, but I wouldn't tell anyone else that.

There's no word on a US version yet. Let's hope that Sega is smart and gets this ported for us. This is one game that isn't as import friendly due to lots of Japanese text.

Are you hoping for some portable Culdcept action?

Oh, God, I want this so hard. I did nothing but play the 360 demo of Saga when it came out, and spent a while searching (unsuccessfully) for the PS2 version. If it comes over here, it'll be a dream come true.
