What does Square Enix's Final Fantasy and James Cameron's Avatar have in common? Hype. Both are massive hype machines. Whatever. I'm going to see Avatar this weekend, and I'm going to play Final Fantasy XIII when it comes out. That sh*t works on me, I guess.
Japan is seeing the pair matched up at theaters. Square Enix reworked some footage from Final Fantasy XIII in 3D to be shown in the previews before Avatar in Japan, at Toho Cinemas. There will be two minutes of eye-busting CG, which, from what I've seen so far, actually gives Cameron's film a run for its money. And I'm sure the 3D will make it even better.
