Japan: Black Wii, Red DSi coming this summer photo

You know how we saw colored Wii back when it was launched? Well, Colette and I asked Nintendo in an interview last year about where those colors were, and they looked at us like we were stupid.  Well, we're still stupid, but now there is a new Wii color. Black...for Japan. Nintendo will launch this on August 1st for 25,000 yen. Black Wii Remotes, Classic Controller Pro (the one with the fancy handles, in black and white) and the like will follow.

The DSi will also get a new color: Red. Joining the currently available rainbow that they have and we don't will be red, which will hit Japanese store shelves on July 11, for 18,900 yen. No word on either for the western world yet.

What do you think of these? I think the black Wii looks hot.

With Mighty Flip Champs, and Mario VS Donkey Kong on DSi ware, and now this awesome Red colour. I am really interested in Upgrading from my Original DS to a DSi.

Just let it hit Europe or Stateside, and I will get my hands on it.

I'm digging the black Wii and controllers--though I hope to God the pro controller's body tapers nicely in the back. It looks thick as a phone book (exaggeration? yes!) where the double shoulder buttons are and if it slopes uncomfortable behind the controller I don't think it'd feel all that nice.

Hot damn! This would look SO much better next to my PS3 than the ghost white Wii that currently resides next to it. Too bad Nintendo doesn't offer a swap program.

Before the wii came out and there was that wii colour spectrum pictures my friends and I decided what colour we each wanted. Black was the choice for most of us. Then it came out and there was no choice.:(

I like how colour schemes for the main consoles flip-flop from being clean white to jet black across generations, or as special versions, and we're impressed every time.
