NukaCola is a drumming BEAST! We've featured his many drum covers in the past and his latest drumming attack is his best one yet. NukaCola attacks multiple boss battle themes from old school Final Fantasy games through his latest rampage.

The drum covers are based on the songs "Battle 1", "Battle 2", "Battle with the Four Fiends", "The Final Battle (Zeromus)" and "Fanfare". Give his latest a listen and be sure to check out his past stuff for more awesome drum covers.

He's pretty good, made a few errors here and there like going off tempo for a second. But was solid all the way though, props

Utterly unimpressive. There is no excuse whatsosver for ever going off-tempo at all for a drummer, let alone the fact that nothing he does is in any way remarkable. I guess I'll just upload a video of a standard quad roll and get featured all over the Internet for it!

@everyone saying he's not that good

How bout you guys post a video doing what he's doing better than he is and we'll watch that too. It takes zero talent to say he's not that good but until you guys do better he's the one fulfilling the final fantasy drumming fix...

Thats not a drumming medley.... thats a man drumming to applied Final Fantasy music. Mixing the two kind of just makes it lame, I'm sure hes a good drummer though.

dude has terrible timing. Please stop posting videos of this guy. No one is saying they are better than him, he has his own style, but he lacks timing, which as far as drummers go is about as crucial as it gets.

@ Daynger777, http://www.youtube.com/vadrum#p/u/12/SZqwvjwqwK4

It's not Zelda, but it is drums over video game music (Mario in this case). Not to bash the dude in the original video, but after seeing vadrum, no one comes close.

Thanks for all the comments guys. In response to Kordras, I know of Vadrum and I love his work. He's obviously got better technique, the better production and the better drumkit. I do VGdrum for my own enjoyment in addition to others. For the most part I've been getting positive comments about my videos and I intend to keep doing them. I acknowledge that I may not be perfect in some aspects, and there are times where I've felt I could've re-recorded parts of my videos due to tempo issues (chalk it up to my overexcitement of getting the video out there, and laziness), but I hope that for most people it doesn't detract from the experience. I'm not trying to replicate what Vadrum does, I always wanted to add my own beats to the original track of a video game song, and so I came up with this. Obviously I don't expect everyone to like that, and I welcome constructive criticism. What Vadrum does is phenomenal, he makes progressive beats that go note-for-note with the music he covers. I'm not shooting for that kind of approach at all, rather taking the original beat of the song and doing my own rendition of it, or concocting something appropriate if there is no drum track in the original song. Bottom line is, I've been getting more positive comments for my work than negative ones. Capcom's Community Manager Seth Killian featured my Breath of Fire II Drum Medley on the Capcom Unity website, and Hamza really enjoys my videos and I greatly appreciate him featuring them on Destructoid. This gives me the impetus to keep going. :)

I get where you're going Nuka and you're not terrible, but you've really got to work on getting a sense of groove. Don't pull a "double" kick when it's never on tempo. You're on the right track, but I notice you're not "getting in there". Put a little muscle into it and learn how to play with a little soul and your recordings won't sound so bland.

Daynger777:

He was the one who decided to post the video on youtube and put himself in the spotlight, we don't have to prove ourselves as better drummers.

I didn't know he was a Dtoid member or I would have posted a constructive criticism instead, but others have already said what he needs to do to improve.

He still a really good drummer. But he is off time the whole time It could be that the way he captured it delays the sound from when he hears it or something to how we are hearing it.

@ Daynger777,

"How bout you guys post a video doing what he's doing better than he is and we'll watch that too. It takes zero talent to say he's not that good but until you guys do better he's the one fulfilling the final fantasy drumming fix..."

These types of comments are probably on my top 10 list of the most annoying kind of comment. Since when do you have to be a film director to dislike the direction of a film? Or since when do you have to be a chef in order to like or dislike food? What takes 0 talent is making a comment that has no actual legitimacy to it.

That being said, I watched this whole video and I enjoyed it for what it was. I wasn't expecting Keith Moon or some such thing, I was expecting to hear final fantasy music with some drums over the top of it and that's what I got. I suggest he keeps doing it.. because you only get better with practice.

I have been a drummer since like 97 so maybe some where around 13 years. Some times drummers can tell even if the one they are talking about is still better. It does not stick out as bad as someone sining off key or something of that nature. So to some one out of the know. I mean hell even real bands have issue with saying in time and stuff.
