First thought was "but I liked turn based", though as you said that version already exists so it's cool. Interested in seeing how this will turn out.
If you want a turned based JA2 then just go fucking play JA2.

Jagged Alliance 2 remake dropping turn-based combat
Yes, BitComposer Games is opting for real-time combat with Jagged Alliance 2: Reloaded. Fans of the original, pretend I used OhGodNotTheBees.jpg instead, if you'd like. But, before you freak out too much, at least let them justify this decision. "To ensure that Jagged Alliance 2 makes a successful transition into 2011," BitComposer has come up with a "Plan & Go" system in place of turn-based combat which: removes fog of war, allows pausing, puts an emphasis on timing, and includes new AI functions. Read their entire forum post here. In recent years, I've come to realize that if someone is going to remake a beloved property, they might as well go all out. We will always have the original game (or movie, etc.) to go back to and cherish -- experimenting with new ideas isn't going to take that away from us. That said, I have also come to learn that the Internet is quite skilled at making a big deal out of, well, anything. Do what you do best, guys. Let's hear it. Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I wanna be one of the first to whine, there. Don't call it a remake then, call it a reimagining or some such bullshit made-up word. I liked the original series, but I say go for it. Like you said, we already have the original, so they might as well try to make something that stands on its own while maintaining the general spirit of the series. man, that brings me back. I say go ahead and mix it up. It will either suck or breathe new life into the franchise. As the saying goes... 'ain't gonna get any deader', so you may as well try something new. Oh man I LOVED the first one but had almost forgotten about it, huge nostalgia rush seeing this! Plenty of the "hot-seat" multiplayer happened at my place. Hardly got to see the second game though, was it a worthy successor?
First thought was "but I liked turn based", though as you said that version already exists so it's cool. Interested in seeing how this will turn out. I think this is a great move. I loved the original, and this seems like a really intuitive evolution of the game mechanics. Reading through that forum post makes me so mad at how all those "fans" are personally insulting the developers and carrying on like a bunch of fucking mindless cockdrones, spewing bullshit about how they are going to fail.
