It's kind of funny.. I saw a picture of Jade a few days ago and I was like "..hmmm not that hot." Then I saw this post and I'm like "Woah, someone wrote something about boobies?! Hot again." Thanks Destructiod. No I've got a little boy crsuh on Jade Raymond Again.

Ok, I've seen Jade Raymond in person, and she doesn't have huge breasts (Lie number one, but I guess this is advertising according to your title eh?). But, you are right to congratulate Ubisoft on making a TERRIFIC game!

all my friends and i are getting the PS3 version... hopefully we won't realize afterwards that the 360 version is superior, but for the first year or so after the game was announced they said it was a PS3 exclusive, so i'd hope that that would mean that it got a decent amount of attention. but yeah, i personally like the PS3's controller a lot more than the 360s controller.

It's one thing when simply looking for wank fodder on the interwebs. I mean, yeah, my standards are a little more outlandish there. Still, if I were to get a date with anyone who looked even remotely like Jade Raymond, I would consider myself a lucky, lucky ducky.

Still, I want my freaking Assassin's Creed.

Meh, I don't know why people obsess over the fact that an attractive female can also make videogames. There are attractive females everywhere.

Assassin's Creed looks decent, but it's not on my "OMG MUST GET" list.

I remember a game expo awhile back where Ubi had one of it's first demos of Assassin's Creed. They had Jade come up on stage to show off the demo. Before that nobody knew who Jade was, and here she comes up on stage as the game's producer and all of a sudden the guys in the audience start hootin and hollerin like they're into their third beer at a strip club. "OMG she works on video games and she's hot!" Was probably the collective thought.

Since then she's gone from game producer to spokesperson as obviously Ubi saw the potential advantage of having her front the game. Now Jade is about as popular as the game itself, not because she's the game's producer but because she's a Quebecoise hottie. Well sex sales, especially to gamers who rarely get a chance to see real females in the flesh. But I think Jade is much more than a pretty face, she seems smart, articulate (in two languages no less), and well she's the producer for one of the hottest games coming out this year.

I really don't know what I am trying to say here. I could probably listen to her talk about the history of assassins as it relates to the time period of the game for hours and hours and never get bored. "Another glass of Cote-du-Rhone mon amor?"

Must be nice to be a woman in the gaming industry. Go from a person with a pretty important position (producer and spokesman--because she was going to be either way) to a position where she's reduced to a sex symbol by "legitimate" journalists (see: Jim Sterling's defense of his integrity against IGN) with blog entries entitled "Jade Raymond has big ol' breasts..."

I'm so mad about this my hands are shaking (less because of the author so much as because of the comments he instigated). I can understand the every day fan blatantly drooling over this woman (we're dumbasses--men, I mean), and even Ubisoft for capitalizing on it (they're a male-dominated company in a male-dominated industry that wants to appeal to its male-dominated and dumbass fanbase), but to have someone with a fairly significant voice in the video game journalism/blogosphere world approach something like this is absolutely disgusting, immature, and ultimately unprofessional.

Now, I understand that you were probably trying to make some sort of a critical/satirical statement about the whole situation, about how the minute an attractive woman is injected into the industry she becomes an identity that supersedes the very product that she was supposed to bring attention to. Because a lot of gamers are sad, horny boys, maybe (and even if they're not sad, they're at the very least horny). You kind of even made the points I'm criticizing you for, but you did nothing to actually elucidate on what you meant with your so-called social experiment, only congratulating Ubisoft ("sincerely) on their exploitative tactic, and simply opened the door for a bunch of terrible name-the-things-I-want-to-do-to-her comments.

Yeah, it's not good to alienate yourself from your readership--it might even have been a chance to relate to them--but this only reminds me of why I'm often ashamed to be a guy and ashamed to be a video game player.

If you were trying to make a point, I commend you, and would hope you make it again more clearly in the future. Nobody picked up on what you were saying, and if they did, they took it as a joke. Maybe because it was framed quite uncritically. So please, PLEASE, the next time you want to show us how immature and easily manipulated we are, don't do it in a way that leaves you in the same crowd.
