Is it silly of me to want them to include some original characters and not just recycle the 10 or 12 characters that people actually care about?
I've been disappointed by Mortal Kombat games for years - I'm done being excited, and I just wish this franchise would fizzle out. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe was one of the worst games I've ever played.
I've hated the MK series ever since my friends abandoned me on the SFII and SamSho machines to play the original game. But Boon and crew really seem to be building something worthwhile with this game. I'm also loving how all the magazines have been getting exclusive character reveals, it's a nice nod to the old days.
Day one buy, just because it looks like there moving away from the messed up story of the last two games (Lu Kangs died and now he is a zombie)
Eh, sod the game, more of that girl in the Jade costume. Or failign that, Holmes in the Jade costume.
MK9 is exactly what I'd want as an old Mortal Fan.
The move to 3D nearly killed the franchise and honestly didn't offer much in the way of worthwhile new features. Basically all of the new characters are completely forgettable with the exception of Quan Chi and the voice acting continues to be mediocre.I always felt that all of the 3D games suffered from stiff animation and lacked a fluid combat system. Deadly Alliance's basic story plot got the franchise kicking again, but it was ultimately ruined by Deception and Armageddon. MK4's weapon system has since been improved upon but continues to be an unnecessary gimmick in attempt to offer deeper gameplay. The same can be said of the multi-martial arts fighting styles as well as the Konquest mode, even though it too has improved since Deadly Alliance.

She was actually shocked to realize that that picture of her has made the rounds on several internet media outlets, and other sites which I refuse to mention due to Rule #1. It's no wonder that you found it on a Google search. Apparently, she's the best Jade cosplayer the internet has ever seen. You should see her Kitana/Mileena. Aw yeah, I have never been let down by Mortal Kombat games, even vs DC or Gold, they're all just so fun to play with non-fighting game players... Oh, and what AriesWarlock said, he's half dragon half human. I wish they would include some characters from the 3D games, most of them were crap, but they had some gold buried beneath the crap, like Shujinko, Kenshi and Bo Rai Cho...
Man I haven't watched The Mortal Kombat movie in forever. Just seeing Goro now kind of makes him look more freaky then in the games. Gotta love the pre full cgi days.
