Jack Thompson threatens to prosecute entire Utah legislature photo

I don't even know wha Jack-o is doing anymore. It's so hard to follow all the stupid things he does and says, so I've kind lost track. Thankfully, GamePolitics is keeping track, and now they point us to Thompson trying to treaten prosecution for  all 104 House and Senate members of the Utah legislature. Jack is pissed because Utah tried to prosecute him for sending them spam.

In an email sent back to Utah, Jack says that he is "not going to put up with it," and threatens to add all of the legislature to his sworn complaint:

If I get one more threat of criminal prosecution for sending you all proof, as I have, that pornographic video games are being sold to children in Utah ... then I will add ALL of you to the sworn criminal complaint now in the hands of the FBI in Salt Lake City.

Maybe the real problem here is that Utah, as a recent study proves, leads the nation in consumption of on-line porn.  Maybe some among you are into this stuff, and you feel threatened...

Nice, Jack. Very professional move there. Calling Utah's legislature porn fiends, and then saying that you'll prosecute the lot of them? Forget disbarring: this guy should be banned from using e-mail.

He should be banned from life. I mean, not to say he should be killed, but come on. You can only watch a train wreck for so long before you must avert your eyes. We must do the same.

Jack Thompson, not happy with being disbarred, has started on the long journey toward being deported and eventually shot into space.

It looks as if he's thinking "What have I got myself into? Maybe I should try buying one of these games and playing them"

Then he plays GTA and is amazed he was wrong about everything in life.

Why does Jack seem to think that democracy is no longer 'rule by majority'. If a group of people (people *in charge* of these things) say don't worry, we're not concerned, please stop your correspondence on the issue, then he should probably do that. No?

Next he's going to try to bring a suit against the entire population of the US, for not caring as much about this 'issue' as he does.

Him and all those wacky Christian conservatives are so fun to watch. Especially when they're involved in politics. Completely forgetting about the constitution, about the separation of church and state, about the freedom of speech and expression, and just assuming that everyone really wants to live and party like it's 1959.

Jack is quickly turning into the creepy old guy in your neighborhood that tells you 'Get off mah lawn!'. He needs to join the rest of the commune, grab a couple of wives, and like them... disappear from the public eye.

Prolly should get your terminology and facts straight sir. If you want to take it further, you can investigate the reasoning for the establishment clause and understand that today's interpretation of what it means differs quite a bit from what the original intent was. The oh so common phrase of "seperation of church and state" don't exist outside of Thomas Jefferson's writings referencing said phrase and the 1st amendment.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying. ;-)

Props to him for attacking "The Man". But I seriously doubt that, and am offended that you would presume that a group of crusty old farts in UTAH of all places look at more porn than the rest of us.

Silly Jack.

Although he actually did get one fact right this time (Utah is leading in online porn subscriptions), what does that have to do with selling games with adult content to minors?

The only problem my state has that others don't, is that we aren't willing to put up with Jackass Thompson. It isn't often I can say I'm proud to live in Utah, but at least we have our dealing-with-jack-thopmson agenda down.

Go get your attention elsewhere, you out-of-touch, senile old man.

I thought it was already discusses in a podcast that Jack's idea of pronographic content isn't the same as what you would typically think.

Pornography: n "the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction" <the pornography of violence>

I thought he once told Jim that GTA was considered pornographic in his opinion. So if an M rated game get sold to an under-age person, then yes... his definition is sound. Only problem is that most people don't agree with that definition when talking about pornography. Therefore he gets looked as a looney, and people ignore him. I don't know what he plans to do. It's not like you can change anything unless you make purchasing M-rated games like purchasing alcohol. Frankly, I get bored of hearing about him. (yet, strangly I'm making a comment)

Second, while I'm not necessary fond of the guy, I still don't think people should be wishing he were dead.
