Is Pikmin a possibility on the DS? photo

I think a Pikmin DS game would work out pretty well. It's not that hard to imagine, right? And it seems like Shigefumi Hino, project leader of the original Pikmin game has thought about it before, too.

In an interview with GameSpot, Hino was asked about how he thought a DS Pikmin would work for the system.

GS: While many assume a new Pikmin would be a perfect fit for the Wii, do you think a Pikmin game would work on the Nintendo DS?

SH: As Nintendo DS has its own unique advantages, it would be possible to create a gameplay-control mechanism which would be good for and unique to Pikmin.

Of course, this confirms nothing, but we can still hope. The rest of the interview talks about the upcoming New Play Control versions of the Pikmin games, coming to the Wii soon.

Is this news? Wouldn't this be better as a community question of some kind?

Let's see, one screen shows a map with your pikmin army as dots, and the onter screen shows your actual player and pikmins on the land. Could it work? That's alot of power to process that many pikmins. Maybe they'll do it the same way thay did it for the wii of dead rising chop till you drop.

If anything, I'm sure they'd rather make it DSi-exclusive for no reason.

Yes, I'm still pissed about Super Paper Mario.

I think Gamestop should start taking pre-orders on fantasy game ideas like this. I would gladly put my $5 to show Nintendo that Pikmin for the DS is a MUST!

I would act like a school girl if there was a version for DS. Also Starcraft.
