Nah. Just messing with you.
Check out my total play time, pictured above. That's 453 hours and 7 minutes. Is Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for the PSP really that long? No. This time is a result of the lack of auto-pause when setting the PSP in standby mode. Some games that log your play time, like Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, pause your game for you automatically when you go into standby mode. Persona PSP? Not so much. It just keeps logging your time.
So how long is it really? I have no idea. If I had to estimate, I'd say that you'll get a good 40 hours out of it if you do all the right things and get the good ending. Scared you, didn't I?
So you want to know how the game is? It's really great. I'm well into my second play through. I love seeing all of the stuff they've changed in this remake. One of the things they've changed the most is the dialogue. It used to be pretty bad, but now it's really sharp. Some of it's funny, too. In one scene, Mark calls an enemy a "dickwipe." Bonus points to Atlus USA for use of the word.
My favorite line comes from one of the enemies in demon negotiation. When you try to bribe him to give up his spell card, he responds favorably, and then says:
"It's all about the yen-jamins, baby."
Look forward to our full review of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for the PSP later today.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Free copy for a poor college kid?!?! =D
What I'm trying to say is, this game is going to kill me. Every bus journey is going to be a race against time.
Anyone else suffer the same fate or do I just have a chemical imbalance?
but you should repel alll evil of the Mylo Go! Unless it's free that is.
maybe I should be nice and go find some money to play this.
Not really, seeing as Persona PSP is a remake of the first PS1 Persona title (Revelations: Persona).
Perhaps you were thinking of Persona 3 Portable?
You know that the JPop is a guilty pleasure. Don't even deny it.
I see Atlus has yet again made a mighty fine localization of the game. Yen-jamins, hyuk. i c wat u did thar
I HATE when games don't have a pause button for the timer.
This has actually stopped me from getting closer to the end of SMT: Nocturne, because I never want to sit down and just play for 30-45 min cuz I don't want to leave it on.
