Is NIS America hinting at a US Disgaea 3 release? photo

Is the above pictured greeting card a sort of hint that Disgaea 3 is coming to the US? Siliconera seems to think so.

Last year, Siliconera's Spencer received a similar holiday card that featured art from Soul Nomad & the World Eaters, and that game a release in the fall of this year. This year he received the above card, and you can plainly see that they made it clear that these characters are from Disgaea 3

Hopefully NIS isn't toying with our emotions. We've seen it and now we want it.

Finally, NIS America, where is my card? I thought we were tight.

But did it absolutely have to be on PS3?

Why wouldn't they release Disgaea 3 here?

I concur with the "Why on PS3" though. Disgaea is already a niche title, and limiting its userbase by putting it on the PS3 is only going to hurt it. Especially since the game isn't pushing anything more in terms of graphics (which is a good thing, I don't think I'd want hyper-realistic 3D prinnies), they probably should have just stuck to the PS2.

You can push a lot in terms of graphics while keeping the style.

Imagine if every sprite was crystal clear super high res, and spell animations which were movie-animation-quality?

I certainly hope so. After seeing that wonderfully over the top trailer I really want to try it out.

Shit I always just assumed it would happen.

Good news I guess.

I would have preferred a PS2 release for the price, but then again I'm not going to complain about it being a PS3 title either. After all, the PS2 didn't do 5.1 surround sound during gameplay that I know of, so this is fine by me.

I'm pretty that grinding the game did well enough in the U.S.

I don't see why the 3rd one won't make it here.

You think? Of course it would be here. And nobody will buy it because it's on a fucking PS3.

AND THEN, we will see a PS2 version. But I don't really care, I just want a refined Soul Nomad that isn't a buggy side project.

@ webrunner

You can do a lot with that art style, but they won't, if the trailer is anything to go off of. It's mostly the same low-res sprites we've seen in every other Nippon Ichi game.

And if would it drastically improve the experience if the same low-res sprites that have populated every Nippon-Ichi title were improved?

The shader's used for Attack effects would melt the PS2, Why would NI spend the PS3 production fee's, massive incomparison to the PS2, for nothing. Use your heads, theres a reason for it being on PS3.
