On a side note it makes me wonder if the huge file size will curb piracy. I don't want to think about how long it would take to torrent 29 bloody gigs. Makes me glad I have other ways;) Plus that's only the ISOs of the 4 dvds. You'd need at least double the space to install the game from those isos. Sounds like too much work for most people.
i'll never ceased to be amazed by asberger-y statements like that. you're an adult. quasi-brand loyalty like that is just embarrassing.
Does the PC version support the 360 gamepad?
Not Allistair but I can answer - it does. Most console-centric games support it nowadays, I play some of them with my PS3 controller.
Yeah its a growing trend I'm noticing and am kinda liking. For single player games I really prefer just plugging in my controller and kicking back.
Also, multiplayer has been quite laggy for me. I have a strong connection, so I don't think its my end. At times it seems like the lag is on my system, even though I'm running the game near maxed out at 60fps. Anyone else having this issue?
Then a few hours later in a mission that has no rightful place in a Max Payne game, you jump a damn boat 50 feet into the air, through a shack, and hang out the side and shoot dudes whilst in the air. That's just too much for me (I was okay with the helicopter bit).
Anyway, I hope the game doesn't keep trying to one-up the it's previous action scene, and keeps it simple and "realistic," to a certain extend of course.
Either way, I love the game, and still have fun just replaying a sequenced over and over again to do it perfectly. Love it.
Oh yeah, what happened to my quick saves? And no reloading a checkpoint whilst in a slow motion sequence? I hate knowing I messed up, then having to wait sometime before reloading, and then watching a damn cutscene again of all things.
Here's how you fix this, publishers: offer a base game made for the general populous, and let them download an additional upgrade that inserts the uncompressed textures into your game files. That way I don't have to waste 10% of my entire hard drive's capacity after I install Windows 7 on it before I wait 3 days for the entire game to finish downloading in the first place.
So, no.

On topic with the game... The PC is well worth it. I bought it Monday on PS3 as I wanted a solid gunplay game and Rockstar does those so well with it's licensing and integration of Euphoria physics and it is great on that system but I really wanted to crank the settings on my relative beast of a PC.
Now, owning it on Steam you can see it truly shines. As a bonus, it also has Steam Achievements. Which I prefer my games to have *cough*From Dust*cough* as pointless as they are I can see what people have accomplished on my friend's list each week on the Community page. It also took 4 hours for me to download at a constant 1.9-2 MB/sec. I don't run it with MSAA though as at my screens 1980x1080 native resolution (Samsung SA27950) it looks great with little to no edge jaggies.
First and largest post I'll probably present. :D
Their suggestion is to delete my virus checker, and run through some really complicated fixes. I should have gotten the Xbox version.
I have a bad ass computer too.
How many pc games have you played? Shogun 2 and Arkham City rip it a new arsehole. And yes, it is fair to compare shogun 2, it has fucking huge scale and STILL looks better.
Please be more just.
Man, am I glad I don't feel this way. I don't even understand feeling this way.
The newest component in my pc is 2 years old, I'm running a Q6600 @ 3ghz, 4gb DDR2 Ram (XMS2), & a HD5850 GPU. Not a sad in site and my rig's currently running this game 60fps solid @ 1900x1200 all highest settings.
Max Payne 3 has been seriously optimised on PC and you do the developers a disservice by screaming how heavy specs are required when they're so clearly not.
