Iron Man, Cowboys & Aliens duo to pen Tomb Raider film photo

The new Tomb Raider movie -- the reboot we've been hearing about since the last Tomb Raider movie in 2003! -- now apparently has its writers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, said writers are Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the writing team behind Iron Man and the upcoming Cowboys & Aliens. The film is said to be an origin story that will place her alongside the likes of "Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor in the pantheon of great female action heroes."

The production schedule currently has the film on track for a 2013 release. But with Hollywood, anything goes, so let's not get ahead of ourselves. In the meantime, Lara's getting her own makeover on the videogames front as Crystal Dyanmics readies Tomb Raider. Things have been quiet on that front for awhile, but I'm excited to hear and see more at this year's E3.

I've got faith in these guys, Cowboys & Aliens looks awesome. Just please please please go with an unknown Brit for Lara, it's not like they're going to get another actress that can match Jolie's star power, so they might as well aim for as perfect a fit for the character as they can get.

I have a feeling they will muck it up with some CW star.

Ehhh... Iron Man was ok, but the writing was pretty shitty. Terrible dialogue, a very predictable plot with holes and loose ends. Robert Downey Jr. totally made that movie decent, but his fun character and great performance only masked a subpar film (which had a pretty good director too in Jon Favreau).

ehhhhhh...... Maybe Cowboys and Aliens will be a better showcase of their talent.

I will give you swords, guns, whatever you need. Seth Rogen would be a better fit than her. Has the rack and all.

@StickfighterTV:

Is that your way of saying "I see you made a typo, Nick! Just wanted to point it out; not the end of the world. Thanks for your hard work!"?

Cowboys Verses Aliens? I'd rather watch Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus.
What a dumbass idea.
