iPhone hit Pivvot is coming to Steam next week

Mobile-to-PC ports don't have the best of track records but I've got some high hopes for the home computer version of Pivvot, a great mobile game which was one of my favorites from 2013.

It has such a simple concept: to keep your dot moving along a track, you'll need to pivot around a variety of obstacles. It's remarkably simple yet compelling and I'm keen to see how well the game translates to a computer. There's full controller support but it sounds like the simple touch screen controls will be replaced with just two buttons to control movement. Pivvot is coming to Steam on July 14 and and will cost $4.99.

What's really intriguing about the upcoming PC, Mac, and Linux versions is the inclusion of a local co-op mode, which sounds like it could be fun. Looks to be one of the better iOS-to-PC ports we've had recently.

Review: Pneuma: Breath of Life

Pneuma: Breath of Life is, through and through, a creationist tale. There's no theory of evolution, carbon dating, or Darwinism to cause debate. It's one god and the world that he brought into existence mere seconds earlier. As it turns out, being the only inhabitant of a world is a dull affair.more

Review: Aaru's Awakening

Aaru's Awakening is an unrelenting challenge of a game, which places players in the world of Lumenox, a mystical land in a precarious state of balance between four deities who rule it, Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Night. Now that balance is being disrupted, as Dawn sends a faithful warrior, Aaru, to travel the domains of the other gods on a quest to remake the world. Dark and twisted lands await.more

Review: Roundabout

For its first game, developer No Goblin seemingly subscribed to the K.I.S.S. school of thought: "Keep it simple, stupid." But, perhaps the studio misunderstood the acronym to mean "keep it simple and stupid." That'd explain h...more
