Hitman developer Io Interactive is an unusual studio to peg for a family game. Then again, occasionally the best products come from left field. Today, Io announced Mini Ninja. It’s a colorful family title slated for release this fall on the Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PC and PlayStation 3.
The game follows a small ninja protagonist on his quest to save the world from evil Samurai and their aptly named leader Evil Samurai Warlord. It will have players utilizing magic and ninja-oriented skills to accomplish this task.
Io’s last project, Kain and Lynch, followed the story of two bent (and convicted) men on a magical quest of revenge against a group called The 7. The majority of their journey is characterized by the rampant amount of killing, pillaging and rancorous cursing that both men do while seeking retribution.
Mini Ninjas is to be published by Eidos. Hit the break for the press release and check out the assets as well. It looks quite cute.
Monday 19th January...It is with great pride that Io Interactive unveils their latest videogame creation in a brand new game - MINI NINJAS™, due for release Fall 2009 on Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PC Games for Windows and PlayStation 3 – Rated E10+, PEGI 7+

“Mini Ninjas represents a truly special game for us,” said Niels Jørgensen, General Manager of Io Interactive. “The whole team is very excited about it, because it is unique in so many ways. From the art style to the characters and the depth of the game – Mini Ninjas has that exceptional appeal, which is sure to keep both young and old very entertained.”
When the game is being released for every platform in existance (save the PSP), then I get a little sceptical.
But I'm glad there are other games coming out than just FPS's.
If there's one thing most of us should have learned (particularly lately) is that trailers often don't reflect anything especially when a trailer is nothing more than an CGI cutscene.

Oh, and the game is Mini Ninjas, just so you know.
Sure I guess. Love to see some actual gameplay footage. If it can be as good as I-Ninja or the Legend of Kay I'd be happy.

nyway it looks nice, i would like to see some gameplay now.
Maybe, maybe not.
Of course, Kane & Lynch also seemed cool before it came out.
