50% of the game's development being multiplayer = I can't play 50% of the game = no buy for me.
There's no way 2 girls one controller is going to be a viable way to play. I was desperate enough to try the first splosion man's multiplayer with 2 controllers by myself and it just doesn't work. As soon as the character being controlled by your left hand goes to the right side of the screen and vice versa, the controls essentially become inverted and it's just not realistic. I managed to beat a few levels, but damn, even if you play online, it seems like it would be annoying to find someone dedicated enough to play through 50 levels and get all the secrets with you.

but I mean, even if I went online and played it with people who LOVE video games, I'm still being limited by them. If we've been playing for an hour and they get tired, but I want to keep playing, then I have to stop playing. If it's 3 in the morning and I want to play the game while everyone else is asleep, then I can't play my game. If they just want to beat the game, while I want to collect the shoes, then I'm holding them back. If one of us is significantly better than the other, then one player is being held back by the other.
I'm all for multiplayer modes, I've had some fun with them in the past. But making it mandatory to have more than one person is BS. And devoting HALF of the game to multiplayer is BS. I'd be happier if it was 75 single player levels and 25 multiplayer levels.

The first one is like the only game my wife would play. I suprised her with the beta for this one and she freaked out thinking it was the whole game. This game has already won me over just from the predator and total recall parodies and their sweet jab at epics unreal engine at the begining. I love their humor, no other game makes me laugh like twisted pixels.

Been playing the Beta over and over, it's just so goddamn good. The Co-Op levels are as hard as ever, and the single-player is beefed up and amazing. Just waiting for that release date announcement.

Seriously though, the game is worth it for the first half alone, the second half now playable with one controller makes it that much more worth it than the first game if you're a friendless... person. ;)
Significant others are a good alternative for friends. If that fails, you can pay a bum to play with you. Perhaps you can pay a poor college student to play it? I know they could use a 10 spot once in awhile.
